Nike Global Challenge: Day 2

Portland, OR - Day 2 of the Nike Global Challenge in Portland got off to a great start for the USA West/South team. They were led by versatile 6'8" forwards Terence Jones (Jefferson/Portland) and C.J. Leslie (Word of God Academy/ Raleigh, NC). Jones and Leslie set the tone early with their outstanding end to end play.

Every few years a prospect comes along with the potential to take the NBA by storm. In recent years we’ve seen LeBron James, Dwight Howard and Chris Paul revolutionize the game at their respective positions, with two others, Kevin Durant and Derrick Rose threatening to do the same.

Portland, OR - The 2009 Nike Global Challenge got underway today with USA Midwest squaring off against Team Senegal.
adidas Nations Global Camp: Day 3
The third day was the beginning of tournament play, which meant that the games picked up in intensity and level of play. The USA 2011 team got a bye in the first round, while USA 2010 played Asia and won by the score of 100 – 66. The other games saw Canada beat Africa 84 – 71 and Europe beating Latin America 72 – 62.
August 6th
adidas Nations Global Camp: Day 2
The 2nd day of the camp resumed with two sessions of games for the international players, and one session for the counselors. Even thought the counselor games are the biggest attraction for scouts because these are the guys that will be eligible in the upcoming draft, the younger kids are showing some great potential and are definitely worth keeping an eye on.

adidas Nations Global Camp: Day 1
The four day global exhibition is back for its third year,
and it is taking place once again at the beautiful Integrated Athletic Development
facility in Carrolton, TX. The gym is packed with talent and there are up to
5 games running at the same time. On one side are the younger international
teams and on the other are the counselors (college vets and incoming freshmen)

The two day event showcased some very talented players competing at a high level. Looking at the amount of time and quality of work that are being put into the development of these kids, it is easy to see why Canada has become such a hot bed for young basketball talent.

2009-10 Pre-Season NCAA Rankings
This version takes into account all the player movement of the last two-and-a-half months, and there's been plenty. That's evidenced by a new No. 2 and a bunch of other teams cracking the upper ranks.

2009 AAUs Day 4
This was an interesting day of AAU action as many of the top teams with NBA prospects were eliminated on the first day of tournament play after "pool play" rounded out the seedings. Tony Wroten, Isaiah Austin, Perry Jones, and Anthony Bennett are all done, as their teams lost. Here are a few other players who we scouted here in Vegas.
