Rise and Shine: Future Stars Come Out in the Orlando Summer League
While the Dwight Howard saga continues to hold the Orlando Magic hostage, the city, and the rest of the NBA, were able to take a well-deserved break when the teams that made up this year’s Orlando Summer League made their way to town. Eight teams took part in this year’s weeklong tryout in an effort to decide what players should earn spots on next year’s roster.

Day 2 tipped off with the Memphis Grizzlies making a strong start to 2012 Summer League with a 93-77 win over the New York Knicks. Memphis was led by 2nd year player Josh Selby who shot the ball well from long range, finishing with 20 Points (5/7 3fg). He was well supported by 25th Pick Tony Wroten who was impressive in his pro debut.

After a year off, the NBA Summer League returned to Las Vegas with Atlanta and Washington kicking off this year’s schedule. Even though Kobe, Lebron & Durant had skipped town after pumping the Dominican Republic less than 24 hours ago, a strong crowd was on hand at Cox Pavilion to see the Hawks beat the Wizards 102-82.

2012 LeBron James Skills Academy: Top College Prospects
Here is a look at the 24 college "counselors" that competed between July 6-8 at the LeBron James Skills Academy. The college prospects went through stations and played in scrimmages that were on courts adjacent to one another so it was difficult to see everyone at all times, but here are some notes and impressions from the event after watching and speaking with NBA scouts during and after the event.
