Broughton downs Clayton, 67-61

In a fifth place game that involved two Triangle teams,  Broughton and Clayton went back and forth for much of the game before the Caps pulled out the 67-61 win.

Broughton led Clayton 14-12 after the first quarter, but Clayton cut the deficit to one point going into halftime.

The third quarter was the difference for Broughton.

Broughton scored 20 points in the third quarter while holding Clayton to 14. The Caps led by as many as eight points in the fourth quarter, and free throws at the end sealed the win.

Cameron Gottfried led Broughton with 17 points. Jerome Robinson had 15 points for the Caps, and Roy McMillian and Austin Burnette added 14 and 12 points respectively.

Gary Clark, a Cincinnati recruit, led Clayton with a double-double. Clark posted 34 points and 12 rebounds, finishing the tournament with 49 total rebounds. Clark's rebound total ties him for fourth place all-time in total rebounds for a tournament.
