DanEboyParticipantI think Villanova is about to get a wake up call very soon. I look at their roster, and besides Scottie Reynolds, who is really just a scorer, no one stands out. Their first half of the conf. schedule was as easy as you can get in that brutal conf. They beat Marquette twice by a total of 4 points ( Marquette is the unluckiest team in college, they lost 5 conf. games by a total of 11 points ) 8-0 is still 8-0 but after Seton Hall 5 of their last 9 are on the road and the schedule is as follows:
@ #7 Georgetown
@ #9 W. Virginia
Providence
#19 Uconn
@ #17 Pitt
South Florida
@ #4 ‘Cuse
@ Cincinnati
#9 W. Virginia
That is pretty brutal. They are obviously tourney bound and a good team but I am not buying the #3 team in the nation. This is why I don’t pay much attention to the rankings until March.
Am I wrong about Villanova?

esperanzafleet69Participanti dont think your wrong but theyve got a very tough schedule and an even tougher conference schedule… i still think theyre an overall better team than syracuse but neither deserves to be ranked that high

gatorheelsParticipantVillanova is super DEEP, that is why no one really stands out. Don’t let that fool you though because this team has a ton of talent.
Talk about some experienced guards: Reynolds, Fisher, Redding, & Stokes
Pretty good luxury to have 2 McDonald’s All-American guards coming off the bench in.. Wayns & Cheek
Not to mention Nova finally has some length & depth in the post…King 6-6, Pena 6-8, Yarou 6-9, Sutton 6-11
Overall this team is better than that Final 4 Team they had last year.
That upcoming schedule is brutal though. I see Villanova going 6-3 through that stretch. They should end up a #2 seed in the tourney just guessing.

DanEboyParticipantNice reply heels, I haven’t had the time to follow college as much as I used to so I was just going by team stats. I know how big senior leadership is so Reynolds is better than his numbers suggest.

the I in winParticipantThey don’t have nba talent, outside of scottie reynolds, but they do have a lot of good college players. As stated above they have a lot of depth.
