Just a handful of youngsters have made it into the next stage (Top 16) of Euroleague competition. We will continue to take a look at those who did with their respective teams, in our weekly report.

Omri Casspi seems to be peaking at exactly the right time. He made an impact in 18 minutes scoring 8 points, collecting 5 boards, dishing out 3 dimes and blocking 2 shots. A nice display of his versatility and potential and even better he will get the chance to prove it in the next round of this competition.

Martynas Gecevicius excelled in his role. He went perfect from the field for 9 points on 4 shots. It didn’t help his team win the game but for him individually it was a great showing.

12 points by Milos Teodosic in 20 minutes of action helped Olympiacos overcome Real.

Milenko Tepic only scored 10 points and was a little down in all other categories from his usual production but his supplemental role to red hot Milt Palacio was enough to pull the upset of the year and oust Panathinaikos from the competition while advancing this young squad another round.

Novica Velickovic had 11 points on good shooting but was not as effective as usual in the rebounds department. He was productive nonetheless and played a vital role in Partizan’s stunner.

Nikola Pekovic didn’t dominate this time around but he didn’t have to as his veteran teammates Palacio and Kecman brought all the necessary firepower to upset Athens. Anyway he chipped in 9 points and 5 boards while drawing a bunch of fouls.

Uros Tripkovic is really stepping up in the Adriatic league but on Europe’s biggest stage he is completely off. Again a zero point performance.

Semih Erden played only 11 minutes, but while doing so he had 4 points and 3 boards not the worst production for this kind of minutes.

Gasper Vidmar got another start but again he failed to deliver worthy of a starter. Only 12 minutes for 4 points and 2 rebounds.

Oguz Savas took the night off to some extend. In a mere 12 minutes all he managed was 2 points and a single board.

Even Omer Asik fell into the slump affecting most of Fenerbahce’s youngsters. All season long he has been a picture of consistency but in this one he only managed 4 points and 4 boards in 15 minutes.

Emir Preldzic was the lone bright spot of Istanbul’s youngsters. He was all over the court going for 9 points and 5 boards supplying support for the vets in a big win that propelled Fenerbahce into the next round.

Baris Hersek finally scored his first points on this level of play and managed to get 8 minutes of experience, going for 3 boards. Nice to see that he is getting some minutes and producing when he does.

Paulao Prestes got 5 minutes which he used for 2 points and 2 boards. A nice showing from the bigman who seems to be ready to contribute more.

Albert Moncasi didn’t get off the bench as usual in a nail biter between Barca and CSKA. Alexey Shved had the same story for the opposing squad this time around.

Sergio Llullgot a DNP.
