GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida has partially reinstated suspended point guard Scottie Wilbekin.

Speaking at the team's annual media day Wednesday, coach Billy Donovan says Wilbekin will rejoin teammates at their opening practice Friday.

Donovan suspended Wilbekin indefinitely in June for a violation of team rules. It was his second suspension in seven months. He was suspended for three games to begin last season.

Donovan says Wilbekin still has hurdles to clear before being fully reinstated.

The senior averaged 9.1 points and 5.0 assists last season, ranking second in the Southeastern Conference in assists.

Forward Will Yeguete (knee) and former Rutgers guard Eli Carter (leg) won't be on the floor when Florida opens practice. Neither has been cleared medically.

Donovan says, "There are so many unknowns on our team right now."
