European BallerParticipant17 year old center Georgios (Giorgos) Diamantakos, who is said to now be 7’2″ and still growing, made the senior team of the big Euroleague club Panathinaikos.
Diamantakos will play on the senior team’s practice squad.

ChoppyParticipantCan’t find much on him other than he’s young and big. Looks like he might have an NBA body but until he comes up against top level competition you can’t judge how he’ll go. Says he’s 2.1m tall, and I’m no good at conversions.
I’m not sure how a player making a senior team’s practice squad is particularly exciting, but hey, whatever gets you going…

Says here that he’s 6-9, still no info on weight. Definitely not 7-2 European baller, sorry.

European BallerParticipantUm no, he was measured by the club at 7’2". I don’t give a damn what realgm.com says. That site is an absolute JOKE.
Hell, they regularly publish false stats and articles relating to the Euroleague.
And in the team picture he is way taller than 6-11 Kostas Tsartrsaris and 6-11 Hilton Armstrong.
Who actually takes realgm.com seriously anyway? That’s a complete clown site.

frogmanParticipantWoulda been better if you finsiged off with "that’s a clown site bro" but you are European and probably don’t follow baseball so I’ll let it slide.
Anywho I hope he’s good at basketball. I’d hate to be 7’2” unless I was a sick basketballer

European BallerParticipantTsartsaris is 210 cm tall and so is Armstrong. This comes from the actual team measurements of Panathinaikos.
210 cm = 6-11
Here is the team picture
Obviously no way in hell is he 6-9 or 6-11.
Once again, I don’t give a damn what realgm.com or "sites" say that he is 210 cm because he is not. He is 218 cm according to the team measurements.

pohani komaracParticipantTsartsaris is 210 cm tall…i took it from panathinaikos site, not that 1cm mathers….but yeah kid looks taller

European BallerParticipantI am not talking about PAO site but the measurements the team does of the players.
Anyway, I checked and FIBA website says Tsartaris is 210 also. Anyway, NBA site says Armstrong is 211 and he is not even close to as tall as Diamantakos in the team pic.
So there is no way that this kid is 6-9, 6-10 like is being argued here.
PAO measured him at 7-2, so why would they lie about this?

mikeyvthedonParticipantI went on their site and the only photo I found that is semi-similar to this "Team Photo" is one where their backs are all turned to the camera. I know that Diamantakos could definitely still be growing, he does not turn 18 until January and all. Just do not know where the particular listing you give is written by the team or for people to see. That is what people are wondering, did you see him in person or are you just going by the picture? He could have grown 3 more inches and all, just seems kind of unlikely and that it would be more heavily reported if so. As of right now, I just can’t find anyone listing him above 6-11.
If you had a link to the picture you are bringing up, or where on the site it lists him at 7-2, I do not think anyone would have any issues. Right now though, just seems like there is no real proof of his being this tall at the current juncture. John Dimakopoulos is listed around there, have heard he is playing high school ball in California. He was playing for one of the PAO youth teams and was listed around that tall. Guessing you know the difference between the two, but that was all I could get in the ball park of your height for Panathinaikos on the current site.

European BallerParticipantHere is the full size team pic. Diamantakos is #20 and 6-11 Hilton Armstrong is #9. http://www.paobc.gr/Image.ashx?fid=5918&w=800&h=800&q=80 As you can see, there is no way that Diamantakos is 6-9 to 6-11, regardless of what websites might claim.

European BallerParticipantGreek League website:
214 cm – 7 feet 1/4″
http://www.esake.gr/main/index.php?pl=12&lng=en&pfpar=cGxheWVyaWQ9MjE1NQ==
Panathinaikos website:
214 cm – 7 feet 1/4″
http://www.paobc.gr/page.ashx?pid=7&personId=82&seasonId=-1
And this is the barefoot height as it was said alreayd like I said before they measured him at 217 cm in shoes. So he 7 feet 1/4″ barefoot and he is 7 feet 1 1/2″ in shoes (as NBA counts it).
So, I guess he would be listed at 7’1″ by NBA standards and not 7’2″. But anyway, no way in hell is he 6’9″ or 6’10” like others here claimed. Once again, I was telling the TRUTH and others were lying.
So Diamantakos is about 7’1″ by how NBA measures height. AGAIN, I was FALSELY accused of lying and making things up here, when I was just telling the truth. But the anti Greek agenda rolls on……….

European BallerParticipantOf course not, because I was once again proven to be telling the truth, and it drives you nuts.

CynthiaParticipantHow about we talk about players who will actually make it to the NBA?
