With the 3rd pick the Wizards select Brad Beal
He's not that type of player, he's a complimentary player. Once Wall and Nene comes back he'll fit more into his role and succeed.
Kinda like Kawhi Leonard IMO, he's great with Parker/Duncna/Ginobli, but once those three are gone I don't think he can carry a team and be a #1 option.
I agree he's only played 2 NBA games.
I do have one other thought regarding Beal. Everyone was hyping him to be a Ray Allen type shooter because he has a nice looking shooting stroke, but I've never seen him really light it up shooting. Beal is an above average shooter for a rookie, but certainly not an elite Ray Allen type of shooter right now.
hence why we can only predict, guess or estimate, like delfam did. Its not that hard.
220 - what leads you to believe hes an above average shooter?
I don't have anything to back up him being an above average shooter for a rookie. I guess I break rookies down this way in terms of shooting. Poor rookie shooters are ones who can't shoot more than a few feet from the basket. Average rookie shooters are ones who can hit a midrange jump shoot with at least moderate accuracy, but don't have any range from three. Above average rookie shooters are ones who have solid midrange jump shot and can at times hit some threes. Good rookie shooters have consistent range out to the three point line. Great rookie shooters are the generally the guys who are one trick ponies like Kyle Korver whose only skill is shooting. Every once in a while you get a guy who's a great shooter for a rookie who has an all around game like a Stephen Curry for a recent example.
Beal is obviously struggling right now, but I still look at him overall as an above average shooter for a rookie.
expect someone to say 'he has a nice stroke so he's gonna start making them'
He was compared to Ray Allen as a shooter because of how he shot in high school. Also, like said previously, Brad's stroke is gorgeous. I'm from his hometown, St Louis, and he just dominated. His stroke was pure and his range unlimited. Most comparisons of kids start in high school these days so that's where his stemmed from. If we pegged everyone off two games, Harden would now be in the same class as MJ yeah? Give it a rest
the wiz are real bad at the moment with wall and nene being out so his struggles arent that surpising imo and has a couple posts have mentioned its only 2 games
thats why i asked - guys say Klay Thompson, is becoming reknowned for his stroke I was digging for a comparison. thanks for responding to the question
Beal avereged about 14/15 during preseason so I already know he can score to some degree, this was more a refelction on hgis early (very) struggles and if it was because of the team ijuries- read the damn question it helpl
I didnt at point say he wa a bust or even going to be. Despite me not being high on him i wouldnt say that yet.
He started off well in the preseason then he really tailed off, avging 11 pts a game on 38% from the floor.
I still believe he's a good shooter, but not a versatile shooter. He's much less effective when he has to shoot on the move. He's also not very proficient at creating his own shot off the bounce. From a standstill position, off of 1 dribble or behind a ball screen he's fine. But I don't see him being a Ray Allen type shooter who can shoot from all over the floor, on the move with great effectiveness. He looks like a shooter who has to have his legs under him and has to be on balance.
My Thoughts...let him play more than 2 games
so let him play a total of four games and then that is enough to determine how his entire career will turn out and if he is a bust or not? wow...wow....
sometimes a season isnt even enough to tell how good or bad a player will be...look at monta ellis' rookie season compared to the season he won most improved...patience ppl patience.
Who said ANYTHING about his career or him being a bust? You just put a bunch a words in my mouth.

Hes averaging 5ppg in 22mpg on 154% from the field (. its early in the season but I know alot of guys were high on him before the draft. Im sure things will get better when John Wall and Nene are back. I did think that he would use the oppurtnty to shine in some way. What are your thoughts
