What school do you think he will go?
What do you think of him as a player?
    Pro Comparison?
    Is he a 4 or a 3?

Well Arizona he wouldn’t get all the minutes he’d normally play cuz there’s already Kaleb Tarczewski, Brandon Ashley, Grant Jerrett and Angelo Chol even though they are currently the best school out of the 3 he’s considering. At Kentucky he would have to play with Kyle Wiltjer, Willie Cauley-Stein and Marcus Lee. Even though he most likely would play the most out of them, that still would take minutes from him. Washington would give him the most minutes because Aziz N’Diye is graduating and he would right away be playing more than Desmond Simmons who is currently starting at the 4. I think at college he is more of a PF but once he goes to the pros, 6’7 is a rare height for an NBA PF so SF. I have been a fan of Gordon since his Sophomore year and since I am also from Northern California I hear about him a lot.

I’m sure Sean Miller can find some minutes for him at the 4 and even some 3. I hope he goes to Arizona!

Yeah, if he wants minutes and wants to be the man, he’ll go to Washington.
I think he’s a 4 in both college and the pros. I think his potential is decreased if he tries to be a full time 3..just like it was for guys like Derrick Williams and Beasley. He’s obviously trying to be more of a SF but I think his perimeter game is ugly. Awkward handle, ugly jumper that gets uglier the further he shoots, stiff movements, too upright in his defensive stance, etc.
IMO, he should be a 4.

I don’t agree. His passing and ball handling is already further along than Beasley and Williams. Yes he is stiff on his jumper but that can be fixed with repetition. MKG has a very stiff jumper but he plays the 3 pretty well at the NBA level.

Aaron Gordon is in the mold of a Gerald Wallace, MKG type of 3. Uber-athletic and plays with a high motor.

His passing is good and he likes to “showcase” his handle, even though it’s not all that good. Gerald Wallace is a pretty good comparison. Gerald’s most productive minutes were at the 4 though where he could take bigs off the dribble and not be counted on to spread the floor. Gerald could guard 3’s though. Both Gerald and MKG always had the movement and fluidity to check 3’s. I’d be less confident in AG’s ability to do so since he has a naturally upright stance like JM McAdoo.

I don’t understand the upright stance as much. He appears to be laterally gifted, and more than likely due to the level of competition he is facing makes it harder to be focused on the defensive end. I think his up and down athleticism is elite, and his lateral quickness and dexterity is above average.

I guess we will just have to differ on this stance on AG’s future postion.

However, I do agree that he can play meaningful minutes at the four spot with the way the game is transitioning to. (Ex: Melo and LeBron playing mostly 4). Those two were basically only considered 3’s in the prior years, only since last year have they been logging more minutes at the 4.

I think he will choose Kansas,
    looking for a monster fresh season ( 18-23 ppg, 8-14 rpg, 2 apg, 1,5 spg 1,5 bpg )
I liken it to Blake Griffin, but play 3

It’d be a good choice since they seem to be good at developing players, but Kansas didn’t even make his final list.

He reminds of Thomas Robinson and Tony Michell. The super athletic undersized, but still strong kinda hybrid PF.

He’s the Left Coast Michael Beasley without a doubt. Hopefully the kid finds a school that will try to push him to the perimeter because without a growth spurt, he’s a small tweener in the NBA.

His three options for school right now aren’t actually his best options to succeed. Kentucky isn’t as one and done filled as it has been the past couple years creating a big log jam and with the class Calpari has coming in, he is not going to see minutes at the 3 much; Zona is frontcourt loaded without any real potential prospects for this year’s draft and as far as Washington goes, he could end being put at the three but not being showcased.

I thought he would have kept Cal in the mix as another Pac-12 school close to home but he ruled them out.

beasley was a beast down low but also had a great face up game, fluid range out to 3pt line and could create his own shot, and driving lanes with his ball handling. AG does none of the except beast down low. Great athlete, i see his future at the Four also. I like him hes good n gifted but hes just doesnt resemble beasley to me.

When comparing Aaron Gordon I know Blake Griffin is the obvious answer but does anyone see some of any of the following players in his game.

Derrick Coleman -keep in mind that I’ve only seen Derrick Coleman on NCAA Vault Games and Highlights but for a player his side he had decent handles, good mid-range game and was a beast on the boards similiar to Gordon.

Anthony Bennett-I know Gordon is more athletic and has a higher motor and a better body but he’s shows some of the perimiter skills that Bennett shows.

Larry Johnson-Grand Ma Ma himself. Again didn’t get to see much of Johnson but he had ball handling skills, and dunking ability with a mid-range game.

Charles Barkley- Barkely highlights are everwhere and he played a lot of small forward to. He had range, He could get a board and be a one man fast break Aaron has similiar skills.

actually while Jabari looks in shape, Julius Randle- MONSTER and Wiggins being Wiggins..still i have heard Aaron Gordon looked the MOST impressive in practices..

that’s nice but I still don’t see him as a SF at all, and while his 6’8 220 and 17yo looks nice and he might be 6’9 235-240 in 3-4years it’s still not that what I want from a future allstar PF (what some scouts are calling him now)

I only saw aboyt ten mins of clips though, Parkers looks real burly but moves so smoove. Like a bigger Kyle Watson less flash better shooter. Speaking of shootibg Randle got a nice looking jumper with good lift but his set shot is a block waiting to happen.

Back to Gordon though, he just sharp the handle was still slow looking and predictable but he is starting to show better attacking position, like getting low to go by tphis man. I wonder if he the reason he plays so upright is because he doesnt have to bend much at all to jump. I thought he would have gone to a school with a guard or guards that would feed hiim though. Think kendalesque, just because he is a pure finisher

Arizonas stacked upfront and Nick Johnson surely cant wait to get some of those shots that
    Lyons was launching all year
