…Before the season starts I want to give my sleeper for 1st pick in the NBA Draft. Alec Burks, with his size and skill set he will dominate college basketball this year. Two years ago he was a 6’2" pg and now he is a 6’6" sg with a great all around game…thoughts and opinions welcomed(wink)

im not sure hes really a sleeper. alot of scouts talk about him going first round.  im not sure where you getting he grew that much though although it is possible

 Playing for a non tournament team never really helps a player’s chances of being picked #1 either.  Also, a shooting guard hasn’t been taken #1 overall in the past 30 years.

I wouldn’t say William Buford is better than Burks.

Burks is a good player. lol. I don’t hate him. It’s just that people are saying he’s going to dominate and he should be a top 10 pick that’s silly to me. He’s not even the best player on a shaky Colorado team, so why take him in the top 10?

He’s good, and he probably deserves to be a mid-1st rounder, but people look at his numbers and assume he’s just soooo much better than he is. When really he played in a system last year that inflated his stats and was largely a gimmick. And I KNOW the vast majority on here haven’t watched him play because NOBODY was talking about Alec Burks on here last season except for like 1 person who made a thread that got little feedback.

Cory Higgins is the better pro prospect on that team…Burks reminds me of Elliott Williams who became a late 1st round pick and Burks will became a mid to late 1st round pick….

 Corey Higgins is a borderline second round pick and even tho I only saw them play a few times last year and the first time I watched Colorado I only knew about Cory Higgins…Higgins was the better player last year….This year Burks will surpass him as the go to guy on offense…

And Burks did get a lot of his points off of transition and back door cuts.  Colorado ran back door cuts to death last year.  But Burks also got to the line a lot and with Tad Boyle as their new coach Colorado will more even more uptempo this year so I expect Burcs to average around or over 20 a game.  

Stats aren’t the reason I’m high on Burks I really like his game.  He got a better mid range game then given credit for which he will be showcasing more this year and he also has a very good handles.  Plus he is very quick for his size, got nice open court speed, and is incredibly fast getting off his feet when driving.  

If you think he has a chance to go number one you must be out ur wig.  Even top 5 is a little high.  But I do think he gets drafted anywhere from the 6-12 range in the draft.
