yungsaint89ParticipantI agree with everyone except Telfair and Webster. ESPECIALLY Webster. Did you forget that he started for the Blazers last year, and he missed the entire 2008-2009 season due to a foot injury. And he doesn’t turn 23 until December.

BucksGot1stPickYoParticipantA lot of these ‘busts’ did not go to school…but were highly hyped coming out of high school and drafted high.
Which, if you ask me not going to college or staying in college long enough is one of the main reasons busts are what they are.
I cut less slack for a guy who is highly touted as a prep player and then decides to skip college the true proving ground where you are actually taught, instructed and coached and not coddled…and pampered or snoozed and you come into the league and don’t light it up.I would add:
Shaun Livingston: He was not physically mature and should have went to Duke.
Gerald Green: The poster boy for ‘upside’ mistakes. Low B-ball IQ.
Eddy Curry
Jonathan Bender
Walter Berry
Sam BowieAnd to a lesser extent my boy Jay Williams of Duke. I love that kid, but he had to get on that bike. He was Chris Paul, before Chris Paul.
A New York baller, well spoken, clean cut, and he had a tough minded game and was a great leader who was coach able and committed.
Man, I loved his passion and his heart for the game. Now he sits in a studio. He will look back in 10 years and be very depressed. But your list is good. Kwame for sure. Darko. Miles. I guarantee you that we will add Lance Stephenson and Derrick Caracter to this list a year or two from now.
But I would draft and take a flyer on both of them in the second round of this draft if I was the Bucks.0 - Posted on: Sun, 04/04/2010 - 12:35pm #275596

QHaynes123Webster became a great starter until he got hurt. He reminded people of a taller version of Dale Ellis
I thought he was gonna be an all-star because he could shoot
I dont think hes a bust

WälseParticipantsome of the guys on your lists are only busts due to injury. i dont necessarily think its fair to label them as busts. guys like Dajuan Wagner and Dermarr Johnson had their careers derailed by injury. Even Darius Miles. Webster has already been pointed out.

Dgtool2ParticipantC – Michael Olowokandi
Pf – Darko Milicic – Kwame Brown (tie)
Sf – Ed O’Bannon
Sg – Luke Jackson ( remember when Dick Vitale said the Sixers would regret taking Iguodala over Jackson)
Pg – DaJuan WagenerHonorable Mention – Marcus Fizer, Nik Tskitishvili, Michael Sweetney, Stromile Swift, Rodney White, Rafeal Araujo, Darius Miles.
O’Bannon beat out Miles because Miles has played 7 yrs and O’Bannon was cut after two with a career average of 5.0 points to Miles’ 10.1.

WildDudeParticipantI agree with the injury part, if we’re gonna do it that way… why not put Shaun Livingston on that list then?
But really heres my all-bust team I only focused on the earlier picks, and if there was a franchise player taken before them… and honestly I have a hard time putting anyone from the 2000 draft because everyone was a bust with the exception of maybe Jamal Crawford.
My picks were the 2005 draft or earlier, I feel we really need to give them a good 4 years to determine if they truly are busts.
PG. Dajuan Wagner- took the league by storm and had serious potential, it wasn’t really his fault but we never saw him again…
SG. Larry Hughes was taken before the likes of Nowitzki and Pierce and he does have the talent but can’t seem to stay healthy
SF. Marvin Williams when you consider the players taken ahead of him (Deron Williams, Chris Paul) and atlanta had a serious need for PG, a very bad pick.
PF. Darko Milicic worst pick in one of the best drafts ever…
C. Sam Bowie beat out Kwame Brown based on the fact that MJ was taken after him and Kwame’s draft was weak…
honorable mention: Joe Smith, Kwame Brown

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantThrough the Fire had me hyped over Sebastian Telfair…… so hyped that I couldn’t see his obvious weaknesses. He doesn’t have the arm length, half-court instincts, leaping ability, or jumpshot to mask his lack of height. I think that he would be much better if he went to Louisville.

PsychoTforPresidentParticipantCouple things I believe contribute to this lable:
A. I agree 4 years in you should be doing something productive
B. Injuries can warrant a bust in my opinion as a team has invested in you, whether it is due to injury, lazy, bad luck or what you have not returned on their investment
C. Successful players drafted above or below you.All that said here is my list, some are older but I cannot help my age:
1st team
PG – Jay Williams (This is more for wasted potenial but never the less he didn’t amount to much basketball wise in the league)
SG – Randolph Childress ( I don’t care what anyone says he was no point guard)
SF – Harold Miner (Again he was no SG and gets this spot on hype alone)
PF – Stromile Swift (Body of work vs. High draft choice earns this spot)
C – Todd Fuller ( Besides that fact that he never amounted to much in the league he earns this for being drafted ahead of Kobe that year)2nd team
PG – William Avery (No explanation needed here)
SG – Shawn Respert (Injuries here, was one of my favorites in college)
SF – Tim Thomas ( He gets this spot on the hype monster, machine he was coming out, he was supposed to be all world not career bench player)
PF – Jonathan Bender (Injuries)
C- Darko Milicic ( His hair got in the way)0 - Posted on: Wed, 04/07/2010 - 3:39am #277229

HitsterParticipantHow about Robert Traylor a player who Dallas traded to get Dirk Nowitzki. Darko has been a huge disappointment but he will have earned over $50 million in the NBA when his T-Wolves contract expires so he may not really care.
