ChabvisParticipantWho are the best role players at each position? Not the young players who are going to be stars and just have not filled their potential yet. I mean the guys who are going to be role players their entire careers, who play the hardest, take the toughest assignments, and don’t get a whole lot of credit. Guys who will never make an all-star game, but are extremely important to their team.
PG – Fisher
SG – Afflalo
SF – Battier
PF – Scola
C – PerkinsThat is a quick lineup off the top of my head. SG is a tough one to find.
Give me your All NBA Role Player Team.

ChabvisParticipantNice, I like that take.
What if you put them into a team like I did? Then who do is your five.

tli232If I want to win games, I’d have the following
PG: Jason Terry (can score 25 a game if needed)
SG: Battier (can spot up for three as well on drive and kicks)
SF: Corey Brewer (can defend quite well also)
PF: Frye (under rated effort on Defense)
C: Perkins (Takes the tougher of the post assignments)

Sg Bob Sura
Sf Shane Battier
Pf Carl Landry

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantPG Kirk Hinrich – I’ve always liked his defense, leadership and passing ability.
SG Anthony Morrow – He’s been one of the best shooters in the league the last two years but ppl forget about him because he plays on a very forgetable Warriors squad.
F Jeff Green – At OKC he will never be more than third fiddle to Durant and Westbrook but he is a very valuable role player to the Thunder. Probably a better fit at SF than in the low post.
F Lamar Odom – The 31 year old has never made an all-star game but has proven himself worthy of his 4th overall selection with his fantastic versatility and all-around game.
C Marcus Camby – Even at 36 he’s still one of the best rebounders and shot blockers in the league.

NYK2010ParticipantDefinately need someone from the Suns on this list
PG – Fisher not just becaz he’s clutch, drawing offensive fouls and making good decisions with the ball.
SG – Affalo he’s a solid player who can hit the 3.
SF – Corey Brewer good player with athleticism and improved jump shot.
PF – Channing Frye a very good shooter, instant offense.
C – Perkins he battles the bigs, plays D, rebs.0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/09/2010 - 10:54pm #329780
MrWoLeeParticipantPG- Derek Fisher- clutch, smart, hustles
SG- Kelenna Azibuke- before he was hurt, dude was solid; can score inside and out, plays D, and is an underrated rebounder
SF- Jared Dudley- like Battier, hustles 24/7, loves to play D, and can shoot, but I just like Dudley better lol
PF- Carl Landry- he’s a Warrior, straight up, anybody who gets shot and breaks a couple teeth, and you STILL have to force him to sit out a game? Give me him any day
C- Ronny Turiaf- plays defense, can hit the open jumper, and his dancing! (jk)and Caleb, David Lee actually made the all-star team this season, although as an injury replacement

DinoRadjaParticipantPG- Kyle Lowry- has good handles and plays very physical defense.
SG- Tony Allen from the Celtics because he is stuck behind 2 stars in Pierce and Allen, but ehn he comes in he knows his role is to play defense of the other teams best wing.
SF- Shane Battier- guy does whatever you ask of him and he can play shotdown defense
PF- Im going to go with Luis Scola because of his hard working attitude and seems to always know where to be.
C- Chris Anderson- for all the toughness on defense and energy he provides.6TH Man- Jason Terry- Perfect role for this guy. If hes on watch out.

omar dayzeParticipantdefinately feeling Azubuike…
Anthony Parker will give you some D, money from 3, never makes a stupid play and never tries to do too much.

JNixonParticipantI love Azubuike’s game. Can shoot, defend and rebound. Very physical gifted and athletic too. My role player team:
PG: Derek Fisher (Can’t guard quick PG’s anymore, but he’s clutch and still gives a hard effort on both ends)
SG: Thabo Sefolosha (I honestly think he’s the best perimeter defender in the game)
SF: Jeff Green (Can do a little of everything, and gives the Thunder a nice mismatch threat)
PF: Carl Landry (Can score and gets dirty down low. A fighter)
C: Joakim Noah (One of the top defenders and rebounders down low and he plays hard. Knows he can’t really score so he effects the game everywhere else)0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/10/2010 - 6:11am #329858
ItsVictorOladipoParticipantGood call on Noah. Frankly I think Noah will eventually get to an all-star game or two. That was the only reason I didn’t have him on my team.
I mean if Chales Oakley, Horace Grant, Dale Davis, Antonio Davis and Jamaal Magloire could all make an all-star team with heart, rebounding, toughness and defense I don’t see why Noah can’t.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/10/2010 - 7:51am #329897
T-Wolvesfan13ParticipantOh sorry i didnt think he made it. But Lee should be a role player on a really good team.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/10/2010 - 8:34am #329917
ChabvisParticipantYeah I didn’t put Noah in my team because I assume that he will make a couple all-star games.
