Am i the only one who thinks that charlote screwed up with these to picks. i mean they did a good job with the trade the idea of getting worse to get better is the way to go for them  but shouldnt they pick two players that will produce for them. If they wanted someone to pair up with Tyrus thomas i think they should waited until next year and found a big man that wont loose  when he is playing one on none. i think they should have gotten Burks and Leonard.  or if they really love kemba. pair him up with one of those two. but i guess nobody is talking because this is wats expected for the Bobcats

Thomas is actually a somewhat capable scorer (17.5 points per 36 mins last year), so it’s not as much of an all defense/all defense pairing as it appears on paper. If both pan out (not just skills-wise, but mature and learn to stay out of foul trouble), that will be one of the best defensive frontcourts in the league. Their biggest need was scoring, and they half addressed that with Walker, who IMO should come in and start right away; he’s a winner, a leader, and ready to start for an NBA team right now, so hand him the reigns. In a weak draft, better do address scoring through free agency; if I were them I would make an offer to Wilson Chander who could be nice, younger replacement for Stephen Jackson. If they could have this lineup…

    PG – Kemba Walker

    SG – Wilson Chandler

    SF – Corey Maggette

    PF – Tyus Thomas

    C – Bismack Biyombo

…they could be a dark horse playoff contender.

They already have Desagana Diop so why did they draft a carbon copy of him in Bismack Biyombo?

It really wasnt the Kemba pick that i had a problem its the Biyombo … i dont think they just want to be merely a play off contender. if they did then they would have kept those players and they would always be in the hunt to be in the play off… .im guessing they want to build a contender by collecting young assets and getting rid of those contracts and when a deal comes in place they make a trade…i just dont understand some of their picks…

It was quite a good draft for them. Biyombo is being understimated, he may be lacking in offensive skills (turnovers), but he clearly has tons of talent on the defensive end. Timing blocked shots is a skill. He obviously has potential on the boards as well.

Biyombo and Diop are carbon copies? Diop is like 40 pounds heavier, and 3 inches taller, although you are right in the fact that they are both defensive rebounding centers with limited offensive skills.

Bismack Biyombo is somthing else, he is not the typical shotblocking bigman specialist that become a bust like Diop, Sena and others, Biyombo is not just physical specimen with superb shot blocking ability, he also a smart defender and has the mind set and mentality to anchor a defense, think Big Ben or the Dream on defense…

Who’s going to score for them?  Well, they drafted one of the best scorers in college and got Corey Maggette, a former 22ppg scorer.

I think they’re taking a chance, and why not?  It’s not like they were a couple of steps away from competing.  This is how you rebuild, take chances and see what happens.

agree totally, it was a great draft for them, Biyombo has potential to be special, great material to building winning team so it was worth the chance, Kemba was the best available player, great value at that spot, i’m very high on him and i think Charlote found their PG for the future!

I didn’t think they were going to take a PG with DJ Augustin but they did take Kemba.

Why did they pass up on Knight ?

I was about 12 rows back when Corey Magette dropped 20 points on the Grizzlies in about 8 minutes.
He can score. I think everybody on the Bucks had an off year. But Magette is a good talent.
They have a new face to the franchise in Kemba Walker and I like that. He’s one of my sleeper picks
    for Rookie of the Year.

I would have much rathered Burks and Knight/Kemba, and then keeping the Jeremy Tyler pick in the second round. They must think Henderson is going to have a breakout season, but I just don’t see it. At least they’ll be in the running for a top-flight SF next season with Miller, Gilchrist etc available. I just think Burks would have been the perfect pick-up instead of Biyambo.

Not that I have anything against the Bobcats, but I have to agree. The fact that they traded up to get project center(Biyombo) that most people had going about 5-10 spots after he was actually drafted, combined with picking a small point gaurd(Walker) when they already have DJ Augustin on board has me in a state of confusion, to say the least.

im not denying your talent but i just dont think a team can succeed with him unless he is a 6th…and definitly not the second or even third player…but he does have in him to score 15-17 point of the bench….i just think burks is a no brainer in being a better pick then the Biyombo

I like the moves of the bobcats in this draft.  It is okay for a team to lose a lot and go to the lottery for the next season because there are a lot of potential stars on the 2012 batch.  Right now what teams like bobcats need to do is to draft players that could be a huge role players in the future.  There are a lot of moves you can think of to make them reach the playoffs now but still not enough for them to become contenders.

When I found out the Bobcats had the 7th pick, I was damn sure they were gonna take B. Knight (the much taller/faster/has more potiential PG left in the draft), but they Pick Biyombo? (a guy who can’t really do anything now but block, but that is a great talent to have with a wingspan like his)

So now Im kinda on board with the Biyombo pick! if the Bobcats like em then so do I….then B. Knight gets drafted and Im pist again lol

But then they draft Kemba, a guy who I thought would be a great pick if they could get him (this was befor the trades went down), so Im like ok, the Bobcats selected a true baller! nice right? but then I start thinking about DJ Augustine – Kemba is nothing like him, he’s way more of an explosive player

My only worry now is to be stuck with Corey Meggette lol……trade him please asap Bobcats

Can you explain how you think someone who did not start or finish games on his team in Spain (for the 14 games he was there) is going to start in the NBA? Also, why would Walker who was always a 40 percent shooter with no three in college be able to come in and start right away? D.J. Augustin basically is the same player as Walker, but with the ability to hit the three. On a team where the top scorers are going to be Maggette, Diaw, Thomas, and Augustin, it is going to take a minor miracle for them to stay out of the land of the Timberwolves. I think they will try to bring back Przybilla to give them a real center, though there is no guarantee he goes for it. Then, they are going to need to be opportunistic in taking back a contract for the rights to get another first rounder in 2012. This is going to be an incredibly ugly season for the Bobcats, and their only hope is that the 2012 Draft ends up coming closer to the hype than that "Year of the Freshman" hype from last year.
