Mr. HookShotParticipantHe looks pretty good on this film: willing to pass, good timing on defense, he can accelerate to another gear on the break with the ball in his hands, ok form on his shot.

Professor RozayParticipantFrom what I saw he seems like a good player. But he is not ready to play in the NBA. What ever team drafts him needs to plan that they are sending him to play in Europe for a couple more seasons. Or when they are confident that he can contribute at the NBA level. But whoever drafts him thinks he can play now they see something that I don’t. Good player right now but not NBA ready…

PrioSelect him and left him 1 or 2 years in Europe to develop him and prove in more difficult European champoinships.

i’m jus so offendedParticipantHe is so highly skilled for his age. His stock has seemingly wavered but I still believe he should go top 10. Who in this draft has the potential this kid has? Thanks for the video link man

B-ball fanParticipantIs it just or has his shooting form improved? He seemed to follow through more consistently and he didn’t have as much wasted movement.

Brennan23ParticipantHe seems to just glide around on the court, much like KD does. Does anybody know this kids wingspan?

Raef LaFrentzParticipantIt has been reportedly measured at 7’3”.

GreekParticipantConsidering how much better of an athlete KD became in the NBA (i only compare the body type) its fair to say that Giannis has plenty room to grow with the NBA trainers but i agree that he is not ready for the next 1-2 years.
What i am not sure is what is better for him. Go to NBA and spend a couple years on the NBDL? or stay in Europe?

moochieeParticipantVery skilled for his age, but watching that video, he doesn’t seem to be the crazy athlete that many thought he was

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantHard for me to tell if he’s any good… the competition looked less than stellar in this particular video.

scliddiardParticipantHow good a player projects to be is very speculative and is pretty much in the eye of the beholder but to me Giannis is exactly the kind of player I would love to have, he is long, good(not great) athlete, big hands, very good handles, good passer , good at creating for himself and his teammates, good defender (especially in help D), has a decent shot and shows good touch, rebounds well for a 3, pushes the ball well, willing to take control and make things happen, good anticipation, just a good all around player and has a huge upside.

lockdownDPhysical specimen.
I really don’t know how a GM can take Plumlee over this kid.
He is 18 Plumlee is like 22.
Give Giannis 4-5 years of development and he will be a beast.
He looks like a NBA all star with his frame already.

anthony_DavIS23ParticipantYeah I gotta change my mock now, I think he can now go 13-20, remember he is playing fairly strong competition this time against Turkey’s U20 national team. He also played Croatia recently and scored 11 points as Greece won.

European BasketballerParticipantThat is not the under-20 team of Turkey. That is the second national team of Turkey. The one above the under-20 level.
The tournament was under-20 of Croatia, under-20 of Greece, and second national teams of Italy and Turkey.
It’s also absolutely absurd that Americans call under-20 teams “strong competition” and Greek A2 pro league as “horrible competition”.
Greek A2 is HIGHER competition than under-20 national teams.
It really shows how incredibly low general basketball knowledge is in USA.
