Dude’s been going bananas lately, 33 and 13 over his last five not including tonite…Has two career highs in a row and is in overtime right now with 40 and 20 against the Celtics.

I was always high on him and I truly believe he can be the 3rd best player in the league behind KD and Lebron within a couple years.   The things he can do both on offense and defense make him a one of a kind player.   I just hope the Pelicans don’t screw him and actually put some pieces around him so he doesn’t end up like KG in Minnesota.

AD went to my High School. I have never seen anything like him. He was another 6’2" gunner until his junior year when he grew 8 inches and turned into a future Hall of Famer. Unbelieveable

 AD is going to get paid throughout his career, but I think he will be quicker to take a reduced paycheck and team up with top players to win. KG had almost a decade of playing before he did that.

That’s why you have to respect KG.  His best years were spent up in freezing Minnesotta without much help and not once did he ask for a trade like you see every second week nowadays from players in much better situations than what he was in.

 He’s a monster. I love everything about his game and he still has so far to grow. Coming into the league I probably would have guessed that his ceiling was right around where he is right now, but he has gotten this far in less than two years and he probably has a few levels to go.

He could someday lead he league in rebounds and blocks while averaging close to 30 a game. Embiid is the only big man on the horizon with that kind of potential.

I’m a pelicans fan, and I honestly didn’t think he’d ever be good, especially not this soon. It’s crazy. Monty Williams has been doing his best job of ruining this team with his bad substitutions, bad defensive rotations, playing Brian Roberts and The Steamer too much, and giving horrible minutes, but The Brow is fighting through it. 

 

It’s really going to suck when we lose him. He’ll be a restricted free agent in 2016, and by that time he’ll probably be a 2-3x all star, and may be on his way to his 2nd Olympic Gold Medal. He’ll also probably make an all NBA team in the next 3 years also, which would then put him under the Derrick Rose rule. We’re cheap, we have a horrible gm, a horrible coach, and the wrong collection of players around him. He’ll probably be gone just like CP3. It sucks that i’m thinking like this but this is the state of our organization.

He continues to show an increasingly diversive skill set. Post hook from the right block. Drive or shot from the left. Iso from the top of the key. Pick and roll or pick and pop. Putbacks on offensive rebounds. And every game he looks more comfortable using what was his weakest move. He’s shows growth by the game, much like he did at Kentucky and throught the later portion of last year. And given his improving defense, (his man to man defense in the post is miles ahead of where it was even earlier this season) it wouldn’t surprise me to talk about him as the #3 player in the league as soon as next year. Why couldnt he put up… 24,12, 2.5 asts, 1.5 sts, 3 blocks with 55%FG and 82%FT?

 I think Davis has the quickest first step in the entire league.  When he drives left leading with his right foot, he is impossible to stop.  And since he is 6’11" and gets super low to the ground, he covers so much distance with his first stride.

The scary thing about Davis is that he still is really just experimenting in the post.  He has always had fantastic natural footwork, but he still relies a lot on his ability to just throw the ball in the rim, which he does better than any big man in the league.  Once he gets a more consistent hook shot, it is over.  I wouldn’t be shocked if he averaged over 25 per game next season.

The funny thing about AD is that he was probably underrated coming out of college, even though he was the consensus first overall pick.  Davis led his team to the national championship and won national player of the year despite the fact that his game was actually much better suited to the NBA, as his prowess in the PnR and in isolation couldn’t be fully taken advantage in college due to the lack of effective PnR play in college and the shorter NCAA 3-point line.  And the speed of the NBA was also bound to help Davis’s transition game.

Anthony Davis has Marcus Camby’s unique timing and shot blocking ability, Kevin Garnett’s length, athleticism, feet and overall defensive ability and Chris Bosh’s touch offensively. 

Once this kid adds some more bulk/strength and some go-to low post moves, it’s over. He’s going to be a top five player in basketball. Let’s just hope NO can put the right coaching, players, etc around him.
