PrecociousNeophyteParticipantFive star Kentucky recruit Anthony Davis patterns his game after Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant.
“Entering my junior year (of high school), I was 6-2 or 6-3,” he said. “Then last summer, I sprouted up to 6-10. That’s when all the madness started to happen.”
He doesn’t shoot quite like Durant, who spent one year at Texas before becoming the No. 2 pick in the draft. But he has the same frame and athletic build.
“Me being a guard last year, I still have the same skills (as Durant),” the Chicago native said.
When I look at him I see him being a PF as I think most other people do. This might be another Derrick Williams thing like that he wants to play SF but teams look at him as a PF. He is going to have to improve his shooting though if he thinks he is a SF.

cward23ParticipantThats a good player to pattern his game after.I see him more as a K.G, he will never be big during his playing career but he can get stronger and is already and good defender with a improving midrange game and a very good motor

CalipariParticipantDavis is absolutely a PF. He is also extremely talented, so his ability to play some 3 could be there, but it remains unlikely that he ever goes that route, because he isn’t a tweener and has good height for the 4 spot.

ag-pennypackerParticipantSomeone say they have patterned their game after a normal pro? It is always someone like Jordan, Lebron or Durant or something even if their game really is nothing like the person they are patterning themselves after. Anthony Davis looks like he could be good but really from what I’ve seen he doesn’t play a whole lot like Durant. He may look like Durant but his game isn’t very similar. Davis plays mostly inside with put backs alley-ups and dunks, and he blocks a lot of shots. Durant plays more of a perimeter game.

G.O.A.TParticipantI’am i the only one that thinks he can play Sf, iam not saying he’s a Durant type player but from what i seen he has the speed and ball-handling to be on the peremiter like, i never really saw Davis do any post moves but he does do most of his scoring inside and i think it nothing wrong wit that not all Sf are exellent shooters but it would help him more if he did work on his jump-shot so, i think its totally possible he can play the sf spot in the nba if he works hard enough

HaleParticipantIf he is really patterning his game after Durant he isn’t doing a very good job.

WizardofOzParticipantHere are some highlights of him from the Amar’e Stoudemire Nike Skills Academy this month.
But yeah, he plays nothing like Durant.

cward23ParticipantHe seems to show more of his andles in camps and practices because he didn’t show it at all in the allstar games. He would get it, give it to a guard, and run which is actually pretty smart when you know you have good point guards to handle the ball. I think his career will be on the block with him roaming the wing every so often because of how good of a shot blocker he is and how he attacks the glass

IndianaBasketballParticipantHe looks to be in the KG mold. KG wasn’t as skilled as Durant is on the perimeter, but he was pretty damn skilled for a 6′ 11" – 7′ 0" power forward.
I think that’s who Davis should be patterning his game after.

the I in winParticipantI think he is going to be a face up PF so working to become more skilled rather than more of a big man is ideal. Don’t get me wrong he needs to hit the weights but he will never really be a banger down low unless he lifts way to much (which would hurt him on the perimeter).
