Knicksboy34ParticipantI like Anthony Randolph but he will not be the Most Improved Player this year. He will not start this season. Don Nelson will not just throw him into the lineup. He wont throw Curry into the starting lineup. Nelson will play both men off the bench and maybe 25-30 into the season, he may start but not off the bat.
Just IMO

IndianaBasketballParticipantThat’s it? No reasoning? Lol I mean why don’t you think they’ll start? I could see Curry coming off the bench, but why Randolph?

Knicksboy34ParticipantRandolph will have to prove himself in the regular season first. Curry wont start over Stephen Jackson.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI think Randolph proved himself towards the end of last season, how hard he worked over the summer and with his play during summer league/USA camp. I don’t see why he shouldn’t start at power forward.
If Jack is starting at 2, then who’s starting at 3?

JNixonParticipantNelson wont just throw him in the lineup, correct. But he has played well this summer and I think he will continue to get better. I think if Nelson doesnt develop Randolph or at least give him time, he will be shown the door. And I think he’ll start Curry and move Jackson to the 3, so Curry wouldnt start over Jackson.

esperanzafleet69Participantman if golden state could get a franchise player for jax and maggette they would be sick… maggette is eating up too many valueable minutes needed by the youngins…

Knicksboy34ParticipantYea, I mean he will play alot but more off the bench.
I dont know about Curry Starting. I see the starting line being Ellis-Morrow-Jackson-Wright-Beidrens with Curry, Azabukie, Randolph and Maggette off the bench.

JNixonParticipantMan, I keep forgetting Morrow. Thats true, i think Morrow will start over Curry as well. But I SERIOUSLY doubt Wright will start over Randolph. What does Wright even do good as a basketball player?

Knicksboy34ParticipantYea but Coach’s usually tend towards starting the guys they did last year. Wright started in the system. Randolph had a good summer league, I think he may not start because you need to see more against better comp.

IndianaBasketballParticipantIdk… Wright was injury prone all of last season. He only played 39 games and started 23. Randolph played more games and put up better numbers. He’s a better player and he showed that… ESPECIALLY during the last few weeks of the season. He put up some MONSTER games. I say Randolph starts at the 4 spot. We’ll see though.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI agree with Curry not starting, but disagree about Randolph. He will start at power forward, especially over Brandan Wright. I also don’t think Morrow will start. Here’s how I see it all playing out:
G: Monta Ellis
SF/SG: Stephen Jackson
SF/SG: Kelenna Azubuike – *Started 50 games last season*
PF/SF: Anthony Randolph
C: Andris Biedrins
6th: Corey Maggette – Back up at both forward spots
7th: Stephen Curry – Back up at both guard spots. I see him playing the mins Watson played last season.
8th: Ronny Turiaf – Back up at center
9th: Anthony Murrow – Back up at shooting guard
10th: Brandan Wright – Back up at power forward
Devean George – Won’t play. If there was no room for Jamal Crawford, I don’t know how there will be enough room for him.
Speedy Claxton – Won’t play because he’s never healthy. He’s the type of player that Nelly would like though.
Acie Law – Won’t play. If Nelly didn’t like Marcus Williams, he definitely won’t like Law.0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/31/2009 - 6:05am #193547
IndianaBasketballParticipantLOL somebody gave me a negative for my second to last post, but didn’t explain why. Man… Some of y’all are homo on this site.
Knicksboy34… You said and I quote, “Yea but Coach’s usually tend towards starting the guys they did last year. Wright started in the system. Randolph had a good summer league, I think he may not start because you need to see more against better comp.”
You contradict yourself when you say Morrow will start then. He wasn’t a starter last season and saw quite a few DNPs. Azubuike started 50 games. Wouldn’t that mean he’d be the starter next season??? Also Brandan Wright only started 23 games and those were mostly toward the end of the season when Nelly was playing the youth. You’re lame for giving me a negative!

sheltwon3ParticipantI see Randolph starting maybe not the first 10 games but after that unless he screws up which has yet to be the case as of now he should be starting from the get go or 10 game in. Curry may come off the bench but if he can play decent for the frist 30 games Nelson will give him the nod. Curry did not shoot the ball well but he can and his shooting will open a lot for the team.

MrWoLeeParticipantso if you guys think that randolph won’t start is ridiculous. it’s going to be ellis, jackson, azibuke, randolph, biedrins. i think nellie is going to go with a 8-9 man rotation with maggette, morrow, turiaf and curry off the bench. he may not win most improved, but it would only be becuase somebody else puts up insane numbers. randolph and biedrins love to play defense, so there will be more shots for monta and stack jack. it’s funny how people think comparing randolph to odom or tayshaun is ridiculous, because if you watch him play, the comparrison is almost perfect

KiD MaGiC973Participantthey need to trade people cause thats just way to many players for a rotation with that many young players
