Sewok15Participant1st Team
Trey Burke, Michigan
Otto Porter Jr., Georgetown
Victor Oladipo, Indiana
Doug McDermott, Creighton
Kelly Olynyk, Gonzaga2nd Team
Marcus Smart, OK St.
Shane Larkin, Miami
Ben McLemore, Kansas
Mason Plumlee, Duke
Cody Zeller, Indiana3rd Team
Nate Wolters, South Dakota St.
Russ Smith, Louisville
Erick Green, Virginia Tech
Deshaun Thomas, Ohio St.
Jeff Withey, KansasAny thoughts on snubs? I feel like someone on a winning team should have replaced Erick Green. Scoring a ton of points on a bad team shouldn’t make you an All-American. I would have replaced him with MCW, Shabazz, Allen Crabbe or even Seth Curry.

Chilbert arenasParticipantAt the start of the year you told me neither Zeller or Withey would be first team all-americans and kelly olynyk was I woulda called you a liar.

DolanCareParticipantI agree that Curry should be there instead of Erick Green. MCW was too inconsistent during the regular season though.

Sewok15ParticipantMCW was very inconsistent offensively this year. He didn’t shoot a high percentage but he still played pretty well. After more review I don’t think he should have been an All American but I think he has more of an argument than Green does because Syracuse is still playing and V Tech was 13-19.
After much deliberation I think Pierre Jackson is a guy that certainly could have made it. Baylor didn’t make the tourney but they did at least win 21 games. Jackson’s stats are very comparable to Trey Burke’s with the biggest difference being Burke only averages 2 TO’s per game to Jackson’s 3.5. Jackson scored more than Burke and shot a very similar percentage. Trey Burke is likely my player of the year so Jackson has to be a potential All American with his numbers. He led the Big 12 in scoring and assists so I would put him in the last slot.

BasketballJunkie224Participantdoes anyone think that IF ok state advanced further in the tourney then marcus smart wouldve been 1st team? its hard for me to figure out because i feel like the 5 who made it were basically all locks for the past few weeks now and on top of that smart is a freshman, i guess you could say the same for ben mac

uabasketballParticipantFirst thing that comes to mind for me is where do you guys think Nerlens would’ve been had he stayed healthy?

Sewok15ParticipantI don’t think Noel would have made it as an All American. Noel blocked more shots per game than Withey but Withey scored 3 more points a game. Withey is also a senior on a #1 seeded team in the tournament. I imagine Noel would have led UK to the tourney but as a 10 seed and as a freshmen you have to be spectacular to be named an All American. He should still be in contention for the #1 overall pick but I don’t think he was too high on many voters All American lists even before the injury.
