Reports are that the pistons are actively shopping Austin Daye. Can’t say i didn’t see this coming. But I think that he’ll be one of those players who are going backfire on the pistons (like Affalo did) but if we can get a solid PURE backup point guard in return (Jose Calderon) would be nice. If the pistons could get Calderon we’ll have to of course give up more than just Daye. But knowing Joe Dumars, he’ll probably trade Daye for a draft pick. Who do you think the pistons will get for daye? Who else should the pistons package?

The past 2 games, they have played him over Magette.. I cant think that anyone would give up much for Daye.. Maybe the Magic would take a flyer on him. Possibly the Mavs because they always seem to turn scrubs into good players.. Daye is interesting because he is 6’11 with some guard skills and great vision.. Fantastic 3 point shooter just seems to be missing something..

I thought he was going to be great coming out of Gonzaga.

The spurs could use him. The max out every player on their team. He is a unique enough talent that if used the right way he could help a team.

If he has no trade value and he’ll leave in FA anyway, I think we should let him try his luck. Hopefully we can get rid of Villanueva next year and resigning Daye at a minimum deal could be good. Has a very unique skill set just needs some confidence.

Yeh most teams give the player they want to trade extra mins to make him more attractive but detroit have done the exact opposite…..
I don’t think any team would give them a first round pick for Daye, they might get a second rounder for him. Don’t know if the suns would swap wes johnson for Daye ?

Aren’t Kim English and John Jenkins the same player? English better defender as well. Singler isn’t that bad and has been playing well.

Singler has a bring future in the NBA. He’s very versitile, can shoot, handle the ball and is surprisingly willing to hit the glass. He’s a pleasant surprise, I doubt they’re shopping him anytime soon. He’s their starting small forward and a 40% 3 point shooter, he’d command a hell of a lot more than being a throw in for John Jenkins.

He’s six ten, like 200 soaking wet, too slow to guard 3’s, too weak to guard 4’s, too slow to drive effectively, can go cold for long periods of time. Not getting much

John Jenkins is a great buy low candidate. For example, just because Kyle Singler and Jefferey Taylor are starting on bad teams doesn’t mean they will be better players than say Jenkins or JLamb who are currently not getting any time because they are on playoff teams…

Austin daye had the talent to be an effective 13ppg guy…. I knew from day one when we drafted him it was the wrong pick

If I am a GM, why would I give up anything of value for someone who is still a project (not going to make my team better this year) and I can pick up as a FA after the season?

I think Daye could fit in well coming off the bench for a contender. The team that needs the most help in the bench department is the Lakers. I think Daye would fit in very well with the quick shooting offense of D’Antoni. Watching him and Kim English in the summer league it looked like they would get a good amount of run this season but Singler being so effective has squashed that.

I still think Daye can be a Mike Dunleavy jr type if he gets a chance and is able to learn. He has a ways to go to be the 20 ppg scorer Dunleavy was a while back, but he can provie alot of the same things to a lesser degree than that with patience and the right chance
