I thought it was well made, the 80’s and early to mid 90’s was clearly the best era of basketball, but the 80s was better because of the physicality of the game.

Then again the Spurs are the team i root most for, and they’re a bunch of soft international players.

    I just like quality basketball.

But the point of this is, ESPN does a good job with the interesting topics for 30 for 30, but they’re a little over the top with all the forced dramatics and loud background music.

They’re nowhere near as bad as Grantland…with its "Bad Boys Remix".  Do we really need "Remix" in the show title? Also I can’t stand Grantland’s female with the Australian accent…whats that about?  And Jalen Rose thinks he is a lot better at what he does than he really is.  He’s overexposed, I hope he’s not competing with a very professional Jay Bilas during the Draft this year.  Also, Grantland’s condescending outsider tone is not cool.  "Jalen and Bill fix the NBA"…..Jalen and Bill explain how the NBA playoffs will happen.  The articles are usually very good (the Game of Thrones stuff is great), but the titles and the whole attitude of it is offputing.

    Anyone feel the same way?

I understand Jon Gruden (the coach, offensive coordinator, SB champion, former QB coach), interviewing the players for the NFL….plus he is funny intense about NFL QB.

The Bill Simmons opinion, I don’t care how much of a fan he is, is just an opinion because the guy never palyed ball at a high level.  And Jalen Rose is nowhere near as into the game as Jon Gruden (who also has a great personality).  So I really don’t need Jalen and Bill interviewing players asking them if they have girlfriends as if their opinions matter at all (they think they’re smarter than they are).

Stay humble, stay funny.  When you’re arrogant about your OPINIONS, you definitely aren’t funny, and it just gets tired……..

Isn’t hating on someone else’s arrogant opinion arrogant in its own right?

The short videos are Ok. The rather arrogant naming of the videos is something that ocurred a couple of months ago… but it seems to have been fixed.

However, I just don’t get why Jalen still sings after the fans asked him not to. I don’t care if he’s a good singer or not. He should be a little more respectful to the audience. It’s just a small thing… after all, we can’t really take them seriously. They don’t always make objective arguments so it’s pretty much barbershop talk on 5 minute youtube videos.

Well addressing the actual documentary, I really enjoyed it. I had no idea about Rick Mahorn finding out he had been picked up in the expansion draft the day of their championship parade in Detroit. That’s really rough.
While I’m a die hard Bulls fan, I greatly respect the type of basketball that the Bad Boys played too. That team was about as perfectly constructed for their style of play as it could’ve been.
ESPN’s 30 for 30 series is quite possibly the best thing about their channel to be honest. I continue to be impressed with almost every single one that they put out.

I’d have to agree. What I appreciated about the documentary was the fact that it was not cookie cutter. It was in-depth, it was honest and the overall quality was excellent. I bought into the hype of Isiah and company being "the villians" of the NBA, when in reality, they were classy guys that everyone could relate to and who were pretty amiable.
