darkman97ParticipantI know that Blake Griffin has been a beast in the college world so far this year, but his stats aren’t that much different than what Michael Beasley was putting up last year. Everyone says that he is the number 1 pick in next years draft just like they said for Beasley. Beasley hasn’t had a bad NBA year so far, but isn’t living up to the hype. Give some reasons why Griffin will be different. This is coming from a worried T-wolves fan.

Stevedotthey do have around the same numbers
and are both kind of small for the pf postion
and on the next level that will b a factor
and the t wolves have love and jeffseron
they should have kept mayo bu since they didnt
they need to draft harden
if they get a chance
kevin mchale shouldnt have anything to do with who gets drafted this year

CordellHatleyParticipantOkay! Okay! You all could stop asking me. I will solve this Beasley and Griffin debate. First and foremost, there are not many simularities to their games other than the statistics. Beasley is a more perimeter oriented big. He can hit the open jump shot, create mismatches for slower bigs and rebound. Griffin is a player that is more suited for the post. He has a very smooth offensive game and has way more polished inside moves to his counterpart Beasley. Not saying that Griffin isn’t as equally talented in the post as he is outside inwhich we all have witnessed this year. With that said, I believe that Beasley is more suited for the small foward position. Griffin is a legit power foward. Griffin has a presence in the post that Beasley just doesn’t possess. How many times have you seen Beasley on a highlight for a blocked shot? Almost never! I’m not saying that Griffin is Hasheem Tabeet, but I see the potential in him becoming a quality shot blocker in the league some day. T-Wolves fan the only problem that you all will have with the alleged number one pick is what to do with it. Do you trade it? Seeing that you already have 2 capable big men already. Al Jefferson isn’t going anywhere and the underground soap opera which will become of coach Kevin loving the player Kevin (I mean playing time). I have got a solution for you. If you all do get the number one pick and draft Blake Griffin. Send a big man to us in Chicago. I bet we could package a deal that would be entising. We would take either of the three. Kevin Love, Al Jefferson or Blake Griffin. Share the love we need help down low!!!!

darkman97ParticipantYeah I know I threw in the part of me being a T-wolves fan because the way we’re playing now, we may have that first pick. But my main reason for the topic is to see if anyone thinks that Griffin will have a better impact on the pro level than Beasley has so far. Hey who do you want to get rid of in Chicago. I’ll give ya Love and Mccants.

CordellHatleyParticipantFor Kevin Love and Rashad McCants I will be willing to part ways with Larry Hughes, Aaron Gray and Thabo Sefolosha. This would give you all much needed size on the perimeter and a big inside. Hughes will give you all some scoring punch. Love and McCants gives us quality size and potential inside with love. Yet McCants will give us another young scorer to come off of the bench and help Rose

Stevedotthey not trading love
the fans will b very mad
they gave up mayo for love
so they not gone trade love or the fans will b mad
for all that they could have kept mayo
the heat should let beasley play small forward
and blake griffins not gone dominate rite away
it will take him a lil time in the nba
he need to work on his ball handling n post moves an shot a lil more

CordellHatleyParticipantStevedot you are completely right. Griffin does have some work to do. And yes Miami should let Beasley play the three

shangrilaParticipantLike someone said their games are too different to give a comparison. Beasley is a finesse jump shooting forward that will likely spend his pro career at small forward while Griffin will be a legit power forward and has a much more aggressive game. There are some overlaps such as Beasley being a decent post player and Griffin showing he’s developed a shot this season but they’re too different overall.
I think that Griffin will have better numbers his rookie season but more because he goes to a bad team and has more oppurtunities then Beasley is getting in Miami.
