i've been a fan of this trade.
Stupid trade. The Celtics have lots of scoring options this year both in the starting line-up and inon the bench...why would they need another scoring guard? No, they don't, they need a leader who will set up his teammates, aka Rondo.
OKC wouldn't need this trade either. Although, they have lots of scoring as well, their scoring is 80-85% the Big three aka KD, Harden, and Westbrook. They don't need a guy like Rondo who will have the ball in his hands most of the time.
Both of theses teams made it pretty far last year, they don't need to trade their best players as of now.
At this point I don't see either team wanting to make this deal.
They've both proven to be extremely valuable to their teams, so it's not likely that they'd be willing to swap them.
woulb be the only way of seeing how good Westbrook really is,Rondo almost went to finals with 3 34+ veterans..Could Westbrook carry them like Rondo does? But tbh stupid trade.
I don't think this would happen but I do think this trade would make the Thunder better, now Rondo would have to attack the basket more like he did in the playoffs, but he'd make Kevin Durant and all of the other players better. Kevin Durant would get the ball more and in better spots. Also Rondo could set up Harden, Ibaka, and his best friend Kendrick Perkins for practice. Also I think Rondo could pull the potential out of Thabeet and PJII. He would put them in spots to be succesful, then they'd just have to worry about defense.
Westbrook on the Celtics would be better for the Celtics future. I think he'll be a better total player than Rondo as the number 1 option. Westbrook and Bradley would also be one of the best if not the best defensive back court in the league. Also A future of Westbrook, Bradley, Bass, Jeff Green, Sullinger, and Melo is a good future. Also he would attack the Miami Heat like crazy to go along with Pierce, KG, Terry, and the rest of the team.
the juice... that's exactly my reasoning...
that team would have the best passer and scorer. harden in the starting lineup would make more sense.
westbrook can be the man at boston.
Westbrook is already a better player and has way more upside, he actually has improved as a player noticeably 7 years in a row so not out of the question for him to keep improving.
"this trade woulb be the only way of seeing how good Westbrook really is, Rondo almost went to finals with 3 34+ veterans..Could Westbrook carry them like Rondo does? But tbh stupid trade."
tbh stupid post. westbrook was just in the finals last year and okc relies on him just as much as boston relies on rondo.
I know there are a lot of Rondo fans here, and although I do like Rondo I am way too high on Westbrook to trade him for a guy that can't shoot, and can barely get 10 ppg. Westbrook is the most explosive PG in NBA history, he and D-Rose are 1-2 in any order on that list. He's so fast and can get into the lane with ease, he's too good to give up on him right now, no way I do this If I'm the Thunder, no way.
Terrible deal for both teams.
