the best mid major programs so far- and surprises
Even though they are 1-2 that UC Davis team you mentioned could be dangerous they scored over 60 in the 2nd half in that upset of sacramento st. and they were close to beating a ranked OKie St. team. They play at Nevada tomorrow and might have a chance to sneak around the chicken coop and beat them
Good list. I'm biased though to Florida Gulf Coast cuz my cousin plays for them but they are a legit squad. I think they will win the Atlantic Sun and surprise some people come March. They made it to the championship game last year in their first year of eligibility. I went to the Duke game and they hung in there in the beginning but Plumlee was too much for them down low.
Wichita St- wins over VCU and Iowa. They beat DePaul too...but they're DePaul.
Xavier: Led by none other than Semaj Christon who is averaging 19 points 6 assist 3 rebounds the last 3 games
conferences in college basketball and often sends more then 1 team to the dance. butler for instance plays in a mid major conference but they are not a midmajor program, their is a difference once you establish yourself and your program.
The MVC is most definately a mid-major conference. The title "mid-major" has nothing to do with how good a few teams in that league are and all to do with what market, what size and how much coverage they get on a national level.
Try telling Indiana State that they play in a major conference, and see what their reaction is. I don't think your "rule" apply at a national level. Tell MVC recruiters that their conference means as much as ACC or Big East. They are a Mid-Major through and through.
