Who is the best player you as a player have ever went up against?
Mine would be PJ Hairston this prior AAU season, he played for CP3 All Stars who by the way killed my team and they actually ended the game early, anyway he is a top 35 player on ESPN, ranked #31 overall, he is a 6’6 SG who has a great handle, terrific outside shot, kinda selfish though but he at least dropped 30 on my team, I guarded him for about half the game (I played up for this tournament wasn’t even my age group) and he could not be stopped, he dunked it, pulled up from three, crossover, pull up jumper, you name it he pretty much did it, very versatile player but he did not post me up nor any of my teammates, probably wasn’t part of his team’s system but he is a great player, going to play for North Carolina for the 2011-2012 season, here is a link from ESPN of him.

We’ve had this thread a lot, I haven’t played against that many special players, best was Dalton Pepper, a junior at West Virginia. Very strong and bulky guard and can shoot the lights out.

I played against and with Doron Lamb and Jayvaughn Pinkston when I lived in Brooklyn. We all went to the same high school when I was a freshman.

im sure the best player i have played against is somebdoy neither i nor anybody on this site has ever heard of. Over the years you come across a lot of good street ball players but dont really recall all of them. If i had to pick one, it would probably be a guy named Desmond Penigar. I played against him in a pickup game when he was going to the same JC as me. He averaged like 27ppg that year and went on to become the player of the year in the wac and played one season with the orlando magic. He was beasting dudes.

Javaris Crittenton and Lance Storrs I would say.

Crittenton always played at a place in Atlanta called Run ‘N Shoot, and he’s extremely fast and athletic on top of being extremely strong and tall. And he throws dimes in a pickup game setting like that. Him being like 6’5 allowed him to play his natural PG spot and every other position on the floor. He held back a little, but he was still dominant LOL (as you would expect).

Lance Storrs also plays at the same place. He sucks for GT and the people always talk sh*t about him because of it LMAO, but the guy has a crazily nice jump shot. He won’t miss when left open

James “Speedy” Williams. He’s a streetball legend. He’s over 40, but he’s still destroying the competition.

Hakeem Harris, who’s gonna play for Brown next season. He actually wasn’t all that impressive. He seemed more like a guy who’s good for controlling the game; he never turns the ball over. Then again, I don’t know if he was giving 100%, because he hardly drove in, and he’s pretty strong and athletic.

I played against Aldrich during a highschool game, and man was he something to watch. His offensive post game wasn’t that impressive, but he got by on his good footwork skills and big body. Defensively he had like 10 blocks and didn’t allow many offensive rebounds to our bigs.

The best guard I played against was Rodney Williams Jr from the Gophers, who we met during AAU. He played on Howard Pulley. Very explosive athlete who threw down countless allyoops on us. Yes, he did dunk on me, so i just walked to the bench. haha

My former high school teammate Martrez Scott was tough, he’s a 6’4 smooth guard who can play both backcourt positions. He was at Fort Valley State dominating the SIAC conference, but now he’s transferring to Valdosta State University.

Also, my other teammate Brandon Riley was tough. 6’1 combo guard with extreme quickness, good ball handling, and can score at will. Reminds me so much of Louis Williams. He as at the University of South Carolina-Salketchie where he was the Region player of the year, the school’s first All-American, and several other accolades. He is now playing at the Univ. of Louisiana or something like that I think.

Dominique Archie was tough to play against. I played against J.R. Pinnock, Michael Curry, Derrick Alexander, and Josh Nesbitt (GA Tech QB).

Dominique Archie was a great HS player. People in the crowd were talking about him being the next Lamar Odom. 6’8 guy who could do a little of everything. Too bad he tore his ACL….It really ruined his NBA hopes.

Yea bruh, he was tough. Josey was talented high school team! My whole region was almost stacked that year: Greene Co. had a host of big time players, Morgan Co. with MJ Wyatt and Germaine Bly, and then it was us (Putnam Co. High School). My freshman year, we had Wilkinson Co. in our region, they had Senario Hillman during that time.

    Mark Madsen.

I was just hangin’ out at the Target Center (my girlfriend is a dancer on their dance team) and good old “Mad Dog” Mark Madsen invited me onto the court to play some ball with him.

He’s the only NBA player I’ve played against, so I guess that makes him the best player I’ve played against.

PS- Mark Madsen really sucks at basketball. Nice guy though.

Ekepe Udoh all he did was block shots never thought his offensive game would progressed like this
Cj Henry always felt like he shouldve played bball instead of baseball out of high school unstoppable off the dribble
Xavier Henry Everybody knew he would be the in the NBA since his 8th grade year
