Best team in the East?
Shaq is a cav though?
Boston is the best team to me.
Rondo (Top PG in the East,Leader and a Contract Year)
Allen (Contract Year, will be shooting the lights out)
Pierce (Coming Back Strong)
Garnett ( The Injury was good for him, gave him time off to reboot and heal up)
Perkins (Best Defensive Center in the East)
Wallace, Davis, Allen, Walker, Giddens and Hudson off the bench.
I see them winning the title this year.
Do you really think Wallace won't start? I do agree that Perkins is the best defensive center in the East. I think Dwight is a overrated defender. Blocks don't mean everything...
1-Celtics
2-Magic
3-Cavs
but it is very close between them.
The Celtics are the best,
They will win a title, they are great at every position
Rondo
Allen
Pierce
Garnett
Perkins
Dont forget they have a good bench lead by Rasheed and Big Baby.
I see Hudson being a very good backup, and likely a starter in his future, but the backup is where he needs to be right now.
Giddens, Allen and Walker are all good young players as well.
I see championship.
i agree 100% with QHaynes
let's settle it. Lakers were missing two starters in '08. Celtics were missing KG last year. This year, the rivalry continues.
actually i like him its just crazy to call hima leader and the best point guard in the east before hes more than a fourth option and doesnt have the best team in the league surruonding him.
I agree the wiz are a threat. they go twelve deep, and if Arenas returns to form, they can beat anyone in a 7 game series. But clearly the magic, Celtics, and cavs are the 3 frontrunners in the east.
Rondo will be an all star this year, and is a possible 3rd teamer.
but there team has players ready 2 step up foye 4 one and im hearing that gil back 2 his old self nick young should take a big step in production be like a jr off the bench everyone is in good health there is no denying them what so ever
Well, IMO he will compete with Harris, Arenas, and Rose as the best PG in the East this year,
Sleepers are Stuckey, Ford and Sessions if he signs with the Knicks.
I expect all 3 to breakout this year.
i think Rose, and Harris are both ahead of him and as number one options will put up much bigger numbers than him.but the third spot is open i think its between Arenas, Calderon, Rondo, Williams, and Nelson he has a chance f getting that spot but i think Arenas is the favorite if healthy.
Harris may be ahead of him, but Rose is not yet.
Rose is only in his 2nd year, and there is nothing that he has done to prove he is better than Rondo.
Rondo torched him in the 1st round of the playoffs last year. But with a big season this year, he could be it.
As of now, the East Pg looks like this IMO:
1. Harris
2. Rondo
3. Rose
4. Arenas
5. Nelson
6. Ford
7. Calderon
8. Williams
Sessions isnt a for sure East player, and Stuckey hasnt broken out yet, but they are the next 2.
Rondo and Harris could be interchangible, as are Arenas and Rose.
Tell me if i missed anyone, but this looks good to me.
put Rose second he didnt get completly torched he scored 36 points once and even if he isnt as good as Rondo his numbers will be better because hes the number one option on that team and will get more shots personnaly i think hes overrall a better player than Rondo but thats debatable.
He may put up better numbers but Rondo will put up great numbers on a championship team. Chicago as of right now will be no better than a 6 seed, and IMO may no be in the playoffs.
Rose will put up good numbers, and is a great PG in the future, but i think Rondo is better right now.
Actually, the fans will vote for Dwayne Wade
Neither Rondo or Rose will be voted in, I agree that Rose will get more votes, but not enough.
I feel that Harris and Rondo will be the reserve PG.
The fans dont vote for the reserves, i feel that Rose is probably a more popular player than Rondo, therefore getting him more votes, Yi Jianlian usually comes top 5 in voting because hes so popular, but that doesnt make him a reserve. I think the coaches will realize that it should be Rondo in the all star game.
I think that Arenas may be the starter this year.
I feel that the top 4 could be interchangable, because they are so close, and i would take any of them on my team definetly, and everyone has opinions, but i think those are the top 4 on everyones list. Then i think Nelson is the definate 5th. And the last 3 can all be interchangable as well. But those are definetly the top 8 in the East IMO, until Stuckey and Sessions breakout.

You are sleeping on New Orleans way too much .
They are top 5 at worst IMO .
Jameer Nelson is not better than Rajon Rondo, give me a break...He can shoot better but nothing else. And Devin Harris is NOT the best PG in the East. You guys are sleeping on Arenas and not giving Rondo enough credit. He is a great player, and I think he is the best PG in the East, All-Star game or not. He is a leader, he may not be that outspoken but he has the keys to the Celtics offense, and runs it to near perfection. He isnt just a caretaker anymore, and for the amount of times he attacks the basket and looks for teammates he is super duper efficient and rarely turns the ball over. A jump shot could make him one of the best players in the NBA, regardless of position. Even without one, he's still one of the better players.
and also Arenas is a much better leader just look at all the game winners hes not afraid to take the last shot and will make it alot, Rondo isnt tht person for the Celtics its Pierce, and Allen and even Big Baby or House.
also about the jumpshot its nearly impossible to get a good jumpshot when you have hands as big as he doesthats the reason Shaq is such a horrible shooter, it helps him in some areas of his game but really hurts his shooting.
Calderon isnt a great defender, and isnt as good at slashing or rebounding as Rondo, and is also much less athletic. But if Rondo had Jose's jumper (Which did used to be horrible, but it was improved, which is what Rondo needs to do) Rondo would be one of the best PG and players in the NBA.
Rondo may be the best pg in the east for now, but the dude is a punk. He is a dirty player and a little &$#%#&@!. I would not build my team around that arrogant fool unless his attitude and dirty play disappears.

Who do you guys feel is the best team in the East? You could make a case for all three teams (obviously were talking about Celtics, Cavs and the Magic). My nod goes to the Cavs. I think Shaq is going to make a big impact. I expect him to average 18 and 9 and play good defense...Your thoughts?
