Best team in the East?
You didn't put Rondo as the top pg in the east though you had him like 4th. I think Harris is close and Rose will pass him but for now it is his, he is still a little b*tch though.
Arenas really shouldn't be considered a pg, ala Iverson with the Sixers. He needs to prove he can still play at his old level too.
IMO, im tired of you guys killing Rondo because he plays on a title team....Im talking to you birdzilla.
You take Nelson over him? I have to question you after saying that.
Rose is not better then Rondo right now. 2 years down the line maybe.
Harris is a good player on a bad team. I wanna see those stats and winning in the same year.
Arenas is a better scoring PG but not a better all around PG then Rondo.
I do feel Rondo is the best overall PG in the East. You said on many post how you feel Rondo will never get a jumper and other players will. I think if Rondo improves his jumper even a little, He will be this era's Jason Kidd and to me he is everything I want in a PG and to me his game to me makes me feel he is the best PG in the game/
You bring up Harris, Nelson and Rose.....all 3 have bigger weakness in their game
I know your not, its duece and one of his 4 accounts.
His shooting is not that bad when you look at his percentages ( FG% ROOK-41%, 2nd sea-48% and 3rd sea- 50%)
Harris is a bad shooter and a average playmaker
Nelson is a ok shooter and a average playmaker
Rose is a average playmaker and a average defender.
Harris and Rondo aren't that far part. Harris is a better scorer clearly and Rondo is a little better playmaker. They are both good defenders but Rondo is probably better. Rose will pass both probably by the end of next year though. Nelson isn't in consideration for me.
There's no way Harris or Nelson is better than Rondo.
Nelson shoots better and does nothing else at the same level as Rondo.
Harris has more scoring ability and is a slightly better shooter but Rondo is the better PG, defender, rebounder and runs the team more effectively.
So pretty much what I just said with a a little more detail haha.
i just dont think you can call him the best point guard in the east until he scores at least 12 points a game, i mean you cant tell what would happen if he left Boston i think he would be a horrible number one option because he lacks a jumpshot, while Harris would be at least a bad number one option.
Haha I hate when that happens. I'll try to make a point then I'll finally submit it and 3 people have already said what I wanted to say.
Rondo still isn't a good shooter but you have to give him some credit....since he came into the NBA his jumper has improved. I remember he used to shoot absolutely awful in college. I'm from Kentucky so I have seen a ton of Rondo. He can now at least knock down an open midrange jumper. I can't lie I didn't know if I would ever see Rondo make nba 3pointers haha....he makes some now. Wether or not he can keep improving remains to be seen but I have definitely seen some progress over these last couple of years. There really isn't a wrong answer between Nelson, Rondo, & Harris...they are all well above average PGs. It just depends on what skills you like for your PG to have.
I really don't think Rondo will be as good as Kidd. Kidd is one of the best ever.
I didn't realize Harris was that poor of a 3pt shooter. I just looked at his stats a minute ago....29%. Wow I always thought he was a pretty good shooter. I know stats aren't everything but this lowers him a little bit in eyes. He can score but he takes a lot of shots to do it too. The games I have watched him he didn't shoot many 3s & his midrange jumper looked solid. He has shot a poor % from 3pt his whole career but I just never realized it.
I would take Rose over if I had to pick, but I think Rondo is the most valuable PG in the East. I really do. I think Derrick Rose has a chance to revolutionize the PG position (tall, athletic PG's with a small PG's speed), him and John Wall.
I agree with you Igudala except the Rose over Rondo part.
Yup-Yup look at Kidd Career numbers. I know its a longshot for Rondo to have 100 trip doub..but the numbers are a little similar now
Maybe numbers wise but his vision isn't around Kidd's level and Kidd is a well respected player and an amazing leader, Rondo is neither.
It's not out of the realm of possibility. He is a really good player but still a douche and a &$#%#&@!.
That doesnt have anything to do with how good he is lol. And why do you say that? Have you met him before or something?
And Knicksboy, you really dont think Derrick Rose will be bettter than Rondo in the future?
He is the dirtiest player in the NBA. His slap on Miller, what he did to Hinrich (he should have been suspended for that) and when he tried fighting Kobe last year then hid behind Ray Allen showed me how big of a punk he is.
I doubt anybody is scared to fight Kobe Bryant, Chris Childs and Reggie Miller embarrassed him. And they arent exactly intimidating guys lol. And I dont think Rondo is dirty, but I do think he is competitive and tough. I doubt what he did to Brad Miller was intentional too.
The Hinrich thing was plain dirty, no denying that.
i jsu think Rondo thrives off having shooters around him and defenses offof him but woul struggle if he asctually got attention, until he gets a umpshot which will be hard because of his monstruio notice how his defender sags off to help out on Allen, or Pierce but if he doesnt have that much talent and the defense an be in his face he will struggle without a jumpshot and take a lot of bad shots if he leaves for a bad team in free agency, i think hes a good third option who gives you 15pts and tought defense but his jumpshot is too weak for him to be a better scorer.
i dont hes my favorite player on the CEltics but your setting unrealistic expectations thinking he will be an All-Star i think hes a good player but his lack of a jumpshot will prevent him frtom being much better.
yeah but when he drives like crazy on a team where their isnt a bunch of attention on the big three and hes being paid attention too there will be a lot of turnovers and tough shots in a more crowded lane where defenders dont have to worry about shooters like House, Pierce, and Allen.
Your right because noone thinks Rondo is good Bird. They never defend him.
So Chicago wasnt guarding him in the series?
Like I said before, go watch that Bulls Series and Finals Series....you will see a top 3 PG in the NBA.
Numbers mean little to me, He has good number now and like I said again and again, look at other good PG numbers. J-Kidd had similar seasons
yep their fgocusing on Pierce, and Allens three point shooting and if hes such a good score why did he only avarege 11.9 points a game? let me guess Steve Blake can be considered one of the best scoring point guards with 11 points? your overestimating his driving because if he was that good he would feed off the opeinings ant score probably at least 15 points.
Do you watch Basketball?
I mean, your telling me the Bulls and Lakers did not guard Rondo...at all.
Your right Steve Blake's on Rondo's level. You need to watch some more basketball because honestly I dont think you know what your talking about.
Rondo averages 11ppg, 8apg and 5apg and you bang on him everytime for no reason, you think he is bad but put PG like Harris and Nelson above him.
Come on man, you gotta watch some more basketball.
i know hes a good overrall point guard but its hard to call 11.9 points a game the best point guard in the east,(i was joking with the Blake thing) and also the onlyu thing Rondo has on Parker is defense and reboundind Parkers the Better, attacker, shooter, and playmaker.

that what ive tried to tell them.
