So who do you think are the best rookies that weren’t drafted tonight who have a chance to make a roster next season?

I personally think Scott Machado, Henry Sims and Alex Young could all find their way into training camps and make an nba rotation. I was a little surprised the first two on that list weren’t drafted.

Anyone else you were surprised that wasn’t drafted, or you think has a chance to make an nba team next season?

Alex young has serious game, he was getting lasted first/early second round love earlier this year before fading he would’ve been a great fit for new York, Scott machado will be a good back up in the league like earl Watson, Henry Sims has nice size and an interesting skillset just his athletic shortcomings really hurt him

I don’t think Machado will make it, his defense and athleticism is suspect, and his assist numbers were a little bloated because of Iona’s up tempo style. I don’t think Henry Sims will make it. I watched nearly ever Georgetown game the last four years and he’s too soft and not enough of a willig rebounder to be a big at the bottom of the bench. Alex Young I have never even seen so I’m not making any predictions for him, but he doesn’t appear to have one thing he excells at so I think it’s going to be tough for him to make an NBA roster. Two guys I think will make an NBA roster are Hollis Thompson and Kevin Jones. Teams are almost always looking for good shooters and Thompson was one of the best in this class. He also has good size, and enough athleticism where he shouldn’t be too much of a liabilty defensively. I was a Kevin Jones "hater" so to speak earlier in the year when he was being mocked to go late in the first round and when he was getting Udonis Haslem comparsions, who is a very good and underrated player. Despite all that, Jones will be on a roster because he’s tough, he rebounds, he defends, and can hit some mid-range shots if needed.

I agree about Machado, I was surprised he wasn’t drafted. Also, I think John Shurna could find his way into a system. Almost better for him that he got undrafted, can choose the right system for him. Tall and can shoot it and crafty scorer to make up for his lack of athleticism! Hope these guys can find their way into a system!

Hollis Thompson and Nohn Shurna are going to make someones team because they can flat out shoot the ball and both have great size. Thompson has a nice pull up jumper and create shots for himself. Shurna is a good rebounder that stretch the floor, he needs to get stronger but he has the talent…

Olek Czyz is an interesting player, he may earn a roster spot.

Probably the saddest moment of the night was Kevin Jones sitting in the audience with all of his friends and family and then not get his name called.

It must’ve been crushing I’m sure. But he should keep his head up. I’m rooting for him to make a team next season.

Kevin Jones… He may be undersized, but he can flat out play. I see him being a great pickup for a team. I was shocked he went undrafted. He was among the best in college this year.

John Shurna… Can do a little bit of everything, great shooter, reminds me of a better shooting Chandler Parsons. Gotta love the chest pass release, it looks really awkward but it is very effective…

Hollis Thompson is going to be an undrafted steal.  If I were Minny, I would be one of the first teams to invite him to tryout.  I also thought he couldve been a good pickup for Cleveland, but they traded all their picks because they didnt want too many rookies…which is understandable.  Sacramento could use him as well.

Really shocked about Kevin Jones, after hearing about the promise….I really thought Memphis or OKC could pick him up in the first round.  The problem is….Wroten fell in Memphis lap and PJIII in OKC’s, so that may have doomed his 1st round chances….still, why he didnt get picked up in the 2nd is kind of odd.

Nevertheless, sometimes for players like these its best to go undrafted, then you can find a more ideal situation for a team you want to sign with.

Alex Young. Good explosive scorer. Pacers should pick him up. He would get plenty of hometown love and it would be great to see him play along side George Hill; also from iupui

Chris Johnson out of Dayton.  Im a Dayton student, and ill say im not biased at all, but the kid is big and atheltic with a developing jumper.  He coulda been late 2nd ounder, but figured undrafted.  Could be a decent pickup to fill out a roster

I was really suprised that Kevin Jones didn’t get picked at all. I heard that it might have been because he had his older brother as a agent for him. Feel sorry for the kid.

I’m not surprised at all he wasn’t selected but it’s worth a side note that he is such a waste of talent and you know a team will send him a training camp invite.  This guy was considered the top player in the nation not even 5 years ago.

Scotty Machado and William Buford not being drafted is absurd to me. Those fellas belong on a roster.

I’m pulling from Jet Chang, I actually think the high octaine pace of Summer League will fit his style of play well.  I don’t think he’s the best un-drafted player, but I think the SL will help his cause as far as being signed.
