valentinei would of rather be the best player on 3 of my 4 championships than 2 of my 5.
does anybody else agree with this. i think shaq and duncan have had better careers than kobe bryant.second fiddle isnt my instrument of choice

Michael.S.ParticipantBullsfan…I agree on your first point..
But try convincing people that Kobe, with more rings and individual accolades than both, had a “worse” career.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/24/2010 - 4:19pm #362128
huff09ParticipantNow I am not trying to start a who is better than who war. But you rarely hear people claiming shaq or duncan being the second best player ever, but you always hear it about bryant. So it’s hard to come to the conclusion shaq or duncan have had “better” careers than Kobe.

1SACgoon916ParticipantKobe has a better career.. 5 rings,scoring titles twice,2nd highest points in a game 81..mvp
Arguably the best laker of all time..even jerry west said itTim duncan is tha best Pf of all time
Shaq one of the most dominating forces in nba history..top 3 center of all time, behind chamberlain and russell (my opinion #1)

courtvisionmagParticipantIn theory yes being the number 1 option is more appealing but Kobe’s quantity and individual accolades cancels outs being a number 2 guy for 3 of his 5. But its impossible to say either one of those three is better than the others.

flybobbyflyParticipanttheyre all three in the top 10 players of all time IMO.
its tough to argue against kobe. everybody is trying to win championships and he has the most.
plus nobody says “shaq” when their shooting their crumbled up papers at a trash can0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/24/2010 - 4:39pm #362160
bullsfan121212kobe is overhyped. shaq was better than kobe for three seasons when they won. kobe plays the sg position so he is more often compared to jordan.
kobe 8 first team nba’s and first defensive team. 2 second team nba’s and second defensive team. 1 mvp. 2 finals mvps. 5 time champ
duncan 9 first team nba’s. 8 first defensive team. 3 nba second teams. 5 second defensive team. 2 mvp. 3 finals mvps. 4 time champ.
shaq 8 first team nba’s. 2 second team nba’s. 3 second defesive team. 1 mvp. 3 finals mvps. 4 time champ
duncan is the clear winner here. kobe and shaq are debatable. kobe has a chance to become better than duncan. he is younger by three years and has a better team around him.

bullsfan121212jordan by comparison
10 first team nba’s. 9 first defensive team. 1 nba second team. 1 defensive POY. 5 time mvp. 6 finals mvps. 6 time champ

SubZeroParticipantJordan also didn’t have to compete with an athletic freak like Lebron. Jordan is light years better than Lebron, but I’m not sure if he would have won 5 MVPs if he had to compete with someone posting near triple doubles

llperezkobe’s got 4-5 more years to go. ANd ill take second best player on a championship over giving up a chaompionship to be the best palyer any day. Its not like kobe was standing around watching shaq win those first 3. Kobe was 21, 22, and 23 years old, all-nba offense and defense and had the ball in his hands during the last 5 minutes of the games. Shaq was just a beast in his prime. I agree with Tex Winter (the creator of the triangle and former phil assistant) when he says jordan would have been option number 2 with a prime shaq.

bullsfan121212you would say robert horry is better than all of them too. second best player on the team third fourth. where do you draw the line. you lead your team to victory or you march with them into victory there can only be one leader.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/24/2010 - 5:15pm #362203
llperezyou are not comparing all nba kobe bryant getting 25-5-5 with robert horry are you?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/24/2010 - 5:21pm #362209
bullsfan121212saying where do you draw the line with being the second best player on the team the third the fourth
duncan has better individual accolades than kobe. so winning one more championship makes him better is like saying horry is the second best to bill russell
you can fall in love with kobe’s scoring all you want. duncas has more first and second team nba’s and more second team defenses and mvps. better accolades and i would take a finals mvp over another championship any day
do you think kobe would give up two finals mvps for two more championships. i dont. his ego is too big not to be the best player on his team that wins
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/24/2010 - 5:23pm #362212
llperezkobe’s not done though. And there is a huge differnce between comparing an all nab superstar who helped carry the team during stretches and was argubaly the best wing in the game with a role player who came off the bench for all 3 of those lakers rings aas well as his spurs ring. No need to draw aline, its just common sense. No one is gonna say fisher is better then james worthy or kevin mchale becasue he has more rings.

dipt1982ParticipantBullsfan, where do you draw the line on hating Kobe Bryant??? Every thread you bash him, do you hate on him so much that you make these ridiculous statements or are you just that dumb?
Jordan’s statistics dominated all of the stats you posted about Hakeem and Malone, and Grant Hill, just absurd remarks. He put up 30-5-5 consistently and was the best 2 guard defender in the game, he was due to win every year with the rest of the talent in the league at that time. Facts are facts.
QUIT HATING KOBE, he’s better than Duncan and Shaq hands down!!!
SHaq won all if his rings with someone else, 3 with Kobe one with D. Wade…who was the true second fiddle???
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/24/2010 - 5:32pm #362219
llperezyeah, i have yet to read a comment form bullsfan that wasnt about how overrated kobe is. In fact he mentioned all these things before in past threads. We understand, you hate kobe and he sucks and jordan is the best ever.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/24/2010 - 5:35pm #362222
dipt1982Participantexactly, this kid just made a thread maybe 3 or 4 days ago saying the same exact things…really? What a re-tard as Alan from The Hangover would say…
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/24/2010 - 5:38pm #362223
llperezhow selfish would kobe have to be to want less championships in return for more finals mvp’s. I mean, the fact bullsfan thinks that mvp’s are more important then titles and that unless you are the number 1 option on a team, then you might as well be kurt rambis, and that lines must be drawn to differantiate between the kobe’s and robert horrys just speaks lowly of his bball knowledge.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/24/2010 - 5:56pm #362234
dipt1982Participant^^^ Exactly…

dipt1982ParticipantAnd keep negging me kid, you think I give two S H I T S about the points??? LMAO
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/24/2010 - 7:54pm #362295
bullsfan121212would just line up to suck kobes dyck. i’m sick of kobe being compared to jordan. he should be compared to duncan who has had a better career so far.
i said kobe can become better he is younger. he has a higher ceiling than duncan and shaq. will he win another is the question. its gonna take one more to pass them if he gets finals mvp too.

dipt1982Participant5 RINGS. PERIOD. END OF DISCUSSION. GO BLOW TIM DUNCAN SOME MORE…
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/25/2010 - 5:35am #362391
bullsfan1212127 time champ end of discussion.
theres more to winning. great players take there team to the finals and win with them. not ride on somebody elses back.
kobe has one more ring than duncan and some scoring records.
duncan has one more mvp, finals mvp, first team nba, and second team nba. and he has three more second team defense.
which one would you rather have.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/25/2010 - 5:42am #362395
dipt1982ParticipantSecond team? Is that all he can do, come on now…that’s just being dumb…And go check the stats, I guess Kobe averaging 27 ppg during those titles with Shaq means he sucks too right??? Duncan would have never won shit without Tony Parker winning FInals MVP and Ginobili playing great as well.
Your argument makes you look stupid. Just a Kobe Hater, join the crowd, there’s a lot of you out there…
Yea, a nine time All Star, 7 time All Defense, 9 time All NBA, 2 time Scoring Champ, 2 FInals MVP’s and 5 Titles. He’s scored 81 points in a game, and 3 years ago went for over 40 points 13 games straight, the only person to do so EVER!…but Tim Duncan has had a better career!!! LMFAO, you moron!!!
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/25/2010 - 7:54am #362464

——————————————————————————————————————————————-Not to nit pick (I completely agree with your argument) but Kobe actually has 12 all-star games and is a 10 time all-defensive team selection.
For the record though while I think Kobe has the slight career edge on Duncan there isn’t a huge gap by any means. I would say that Kobe has had one of the 7 best careers all time (along with MJ, Kareem, Magic, Wilt, Bird and Russell) but I would also put Duncan and Shaq in the top 12 as well.

bullsfan121212this guy is arguing his stats and doesnt even know them
i listed there achievements that matter. its right there for everybody to read it and weep. duncan is better

bullsfan121212how people give me negatives for listing accolades. just shows how far they are willing to go to get on there knees for kobe. giving negative points for facts
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/25/2010 - 8:26am #362475
bullsfan121212to get points. i posted it to have people see beyond the hype. where’s the next michael.

dipt1982ParticipantYeah DwightHoward, I realized after I posted it that I was looking at a stat sheet from a couple years ago…even better though, LMAO…Bullsfan, your re-tarded…there’s nothing to weep about, Kobe’s better! Go cry over your oatmeal fag
