rtbtParticipantLet me start by confirming my prediction that Joe Dumars would not take on another long term project @ center in BJ Mullens. He learned his lesson but he also made what I thought was a horrible choice in Daye. As I suspected, there was no promise to BJ Mullens.
Biggest Surprise: San Antonio
——————————————
They did not have a first round choice but they wound up with the steal of the draft in D. Blair. Once again, NBA GMs proved how dumb they can be. They didn’t learn their lesson two years ago when everybody passed on Paul Milsap in the first round. D. Blair is going to make all of them look foolish. They also picked up Nando DeColo who could turn into a very good player down the road. Most Overrated Draft: OKC
————————————–
Harden is overrated, he should’ve gone between 10 and 12. More importantly, I think they should have taken Tyreke Evans with the 3rd choice who will probably become a star. And as I’ve said all along, BJ Mullens will probably turn into a bust. I might be wrong about him, but I will be very surprised if he reaches his potential. Most Underrated: Sacramento
—————————————–
I cannot believe Adi gave them a C-, the same rating he gave the Lakers who essentially picked up nobody in the draft. Are you kidding?(4th) Tyreke Evans – He could evolve into an All Star.
(23rd) Omri Casspi – He should become an outstanding small forward.
(38th) Jon Brockman – A poor man’s version of Paul Milsap who should be an excellent role player coming off the bench for 10-15 minutes per game and providing the kind of rebounding boost Sacramento needs. That isn’t too shabby for the 38th pick.0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/26/2009 - 2:23am #171776
Lodzio20ParticipantHarden is not overrated…he will be great in NBA

D HampParticipant1. I believe Harden being drafted at number 3 was a long reach. I would have taken him between 10 and 12.
2. How Chase Budinger drops to 44 proves how many vacous scouts there are in the NBA. They actually get pay to watch basketball, yet most everyone drop this ball big-time.
3. Kudos to San Antonion for picking up D. Blair. It’s not an all-time steal, Ginobli at 57 also by San Antonio, but a good pickup nontheless.
4. No sold on Minnesota drafting all of the point guards.
DHamp…RIP Michael Jackson, King of Pop.

rtbtParticipantLodzio20, you might be right about Harden but I would be surprised if he eventually proves that he was worth the 3rd choice in the draft. On the other hand, unless he’s injured, I don’t think there’s much doubt that Tyreke Evans will be a big time star in the NBA. Therefore, I think he should have been the OKC selection with pick number 3.
IMHO, Harden is a guy who should have gone somewhere between 10 and 12.

WildDudeParticipantMy favorite drafts were easily OKC and Sacarmento, and ofc I loved hearing those boos by the Knicks fans when the warriors picked Curry and even louder boos when the Knicks picked Jordan Hill, show some respect man!

TyroberParticipantEvans might be like harden but harden is gonna be a terrific player for the thunder. Evans has more potential and could out to be like arenas but harden is a solid player. Hes going to get the job done. Iv been all for harden going third to the thunder and some drafts had him aslow as nine but he is exactly what the thunder need.
