Birdman Signs with the Heat

I hope he can help them get out of their rebounding woes. Another defensive shotblocker for the heat.

His rebounding & shot

His rebounding & shot blocking are exactly what they need..But it doesnt address their need of a low post scorer.....

I don't think they need a low

I don't think they need a low post scorer. A low post scorer will have to establish himself in the post a lot, post up and be a big presence in the paint. What good would that do to Lebron and DWade? The heat have bigs that space the floor out for lebron and d wade just as lebron and dwade give them wide open looks. Having a low post scorer will only clog the lane and saturate the defense to the point that the Miami Heat's drives to the baskets will be less productive. Defense in the paint and rebounding is the only thing that they need.

Well if Birdman can make it

Well if Birdman can make it into the rotation that will give the Heat two guys over 6'9" who play nightly. His size, energy, rebounding, and shot blocking should be valuable to Heat.

Birdman

I have always been a fan of his effort level; if nothing else. Even if he can no longer rebound/block shots like he used to - i really think he helps push their other bigs in practice and can help with their effort level.

I won't be surprised if he doesn't make it past the 10 day contract.

We'll see what he has left in

We'll see what he has left in the tank. No one picked him up after he was waived, I doubt he is the player he was a few years ago.
