Who do you guys seeing Bismack Biyambo going to? some people have him going #1 but i highly doubt that. Some people have him going to the rockets because they need a center and some people have him going to the jazz because many think that him and derrick favors will be really hard to get passed. And some people have him going in the 20s. So what do you guys think?

I have him going at 14th to the Rockets. I feel that this may be a little high for him and should probably go in the 20’s but I feel the Rockets can’t pass this chance up at a Center like Biyombo no matter how raw he is offensively. They need a Center badly, and unfortunately Center’s are a rare commodity in this league, so Biyombo may be the only chance the Rockets ever get at a Center. If he is not a bust then the Rockets have struck gold. If he is a bust well at least they tried when that might be the only chance they ever get. You might as well try your luck expecially when the thing you need is a rare commodity in the NBA. The Rockets usually go the safe route but again this is a once in a lifetime chace that you can’t pass up. Otherwise you might never be able to fill your need at Center.

The Jazz don’t really need a bigman, yes him and Favors would be a great defensive combo but he wouldn’t really fit in the Jazz’s roster. They have too many bigman and are not likely to lose very many. Jefferson has one of those contracts that is basically untradeable and the Jazz always have Ante Tomic to bring over. He can make up for Okur’s absence if he truly is lost to injury or if they don’t bring back Fez then Tomic can make up for that. Really picking Biyombo would be just a waste of roster space and therefore a wasted pick.

I expect Bismack to go 1st overall because he is the next Dwight Howard. If not 1st he should definitely go 2nd. I also see the Lakers trading up in this draft for whoever wins the lottery so they can acquire Bismack Biyambo with Bynum, Artset, Odom, Lakers 2013 1st rounder, Lakers 2015 1st rounder, Lakers 2017 1st rounder, Lakers 2019 1st rounder, and possibly Steve Blake to make it fair. It probally wouldnt get accepted and is a deal DNyce would post but its worth a shot.

These guys are clearly the best scouts interms of international players, so I definitely trust their ACB analysis. If he shows the leadership qualities and intellect he supposedly has, I would be surprised if he didn’t go in the lottery. Players with his length, athleticism, and defensive intangibles don’t come around often.

I had to search this one out. There are just so many gem assessments on the NBA Draft, and that is what makes it so precious. This doesn’t even cover the Charles Garcia mess he created. It doesn’t cover the fact that he thoughtMarcus Haislip was a steal, or that Houston was the smartest organization in all of basketball when they signed David Andersen. It seems to me that there is more of a trend towards not understanding what the ACB is rather than being good at it.

I don’t trust anyone writing on this guy that doesn’t mention the reason he was elevated to the ACB was that the team had to sell off Esteban Batista. It is an important part of the fact finding on the player. Don’t tell me that because he speaks three languages he is smart, only in America do children go to school and not learn multiple languages. That is lazy and ignorant of the fact most African who have immigrated to Europe or America speak multiple languages. Don’t tell me how good the ACB league is when Martynas Andriuskevicius is getting by his odd definition "significant" time. European leagues are as deep or as weak as the money the team has. Fuenlabrada doesn’t have money, so they brought this kid up. He is long, he is raw, he blocks shots, he fouls, and he turns the ball over all the time. Finding someone who is this guy’s size is easy. They are everywhere. Ekpe Udoh was that guy as was Larry Sanders (and both of those two are more advanced offensively). Why do you suppose they couldn’t get on the floor? Maybe it was all the things they can’t do weighing more heavily than the one or two things they do well. Does anyone ever want to learn from previous mistakes or just ignore the trends and play to the stupid?

He should be a top ten and if he should up and perform will at the combine then he could go in the top five. He reminds me of Ryan Richard of last year. But he just got a different physique, he look more NBA Ready.

BTPH Im curious to know your opinion on Bismack Biyambo. Not just the fact that people are overvaluing him, and not just the negative aspects of his game and why he should not be selected in the lotto, but tell me the pros and cons of this prospect, how you see him developing in the NBA, his cieling, where he will be drafted and where he SHOULD be drafted.

I think he is a very intriguing player with great physical and athletic tools. He has the will to learn and a great attitude. The type of foundation you want for a rookie at least mentally, great character. He also really prides himself on defense and the league does not have enough players like that. the fact that he is probally somewhere around 20, and has that size is very encouraging.

He is too foul prone to be an elite defender and to turnover prone to stay on the court. His intangibles in just about every aspect needs improement from footwork to positioning. From the looks of it he will have no offensive game further then 5 feet from the rim. Mentally he may not be ready for the NBA’s speed. High risk player that may never translate to the NBA.

This guy is very similar to Kevin Seraphin. Last year people realized how he was playing on France (not even that well) and people thought since he has a nice body, is a good athlete, and has a bit of toughness he would be a good NBA prospect. n reality there are players doing his job alot better all over the world who dont get the shot he will get, and wouldnt get to play through errors he will be able to play through because they arent as exciting. The physical and athletic attributes cannot be denied, and his defensive mindset is sought after. He should be no higher then a mid-first rounder to early-second rounder, yet he will go in the lottery due to teams overhyping him, and bad organizations dreaming.

I haven’t seen this guy play in person or much at all on TV against quality competition so I have no idea…If he is the next Serge Ibaka then he should go anywhere from 5 to 10.  I don’t like him at number 1, especially to the T-Wolves.  I think Derrick Williams would be a better fit.  In the NBA you need two quality star players.  Kevin Love and Derrick Williams would be that.  Then you need a high quality point guard who makes his teammates better and who can play some defense.  That would be (might be?) Ricky Rubio.  Then you need a big man (banger) to do the dirty work such as rebounding, blocking shots, and giving hard fouls.  That would be Darko.  A great sixth man who can do some of everything makes everything easier for the team and really gives a team another dimension.  I think Anthony Randolph can be that guy.  Then you put some quality shooters and wing men around those guys.  Wes Johnson and Wayne Ellington might be a good start.

If the T-Wolves, however, drop to 4 and Williams, Irving, and Kanter are gone then they should look at Bismack.

I have the Kings taking Bismack at 5.  The reason being is they have a very promising perimeter guy (Tyreke) and a very talented big man (Cousins).  So if everything goes well they have their BIG TWO going forward.  Obviously, if they are gonna play Tyreke at the 2 and if Marcus Thornton is more suited as a back up then they should take a look at Brandon Knight.  Actually, Kemba Walker has more talent in my opinion and if things work out then they would have a deadly back court.  Tyreke and Kemba can get to the basket at will.  Either guy could go for 30.  Both would be willing to take the last shot.  Both guys probably work best out of the drive-and-kick offense.  Tyreke thrived as an unorthodox big point guard at U of Memphis while playing the dribble-drive offense.  Neither are the best 3 point shooters in the league but if they get that back court (with Thornton as the third guard/alternate small forward) and with Beno Udrih playing spot minutes, having a small forward who can hit the 3 would be ideal for them.  Or they can start Tyreke and Thornton and make Kemba their sixth man.  I think he would be a better sixth man than Brandon Knight.

If they want to go big, then they should take a look at Bismack.  He could be the defensive guy next to the offensively-minded Demarcus Cousins.  With Tyreke, Cousins, and Thornton being 3 high volume scorers there might not be enough shots to go around anyway.  I like Udrih as a third guard.  Decent size, can hit the three, and can really be a threat if he catches on fire.  Jason Thompson and Samuel Dalembert would give them good size off the bench.  Big defensive guys are tougher to find so the Kings need to take a strong look at Bismack.  That would give them the best, young, front court duo in the league with Bismack and Cousins.  At 35, they could go after a small forward like Chandler Parsons or a back court shooters like David Lighty, Jon Diebler, or Ravern Johnson.

Jimmer Fredette would also be a good option for the Kings.

I think the Cavs can afford to roll the dice on Bismack since they also have another lottery pick.  They can take Bismack as the 2nd or 3rd pick and hope that Kemba Walker is there at 8.  Then the Cavs have a great scoring guard who can play some point, and a defensive big man with great shot blocking skills.  With two picks the Cavs get the best defensive force and the best offensive force.

What’s funny is that this website compares Brandon Knight to Jrue Holiday and Jason Terry.  They compare Kemba Walker to Tim Hardaway and Bobby Jackson.  I would much rather prefer a best case scenario of Tim Hardaway with a solid comparison to a prime Bobby Jackson.  I think that at 8, Kemba would be a STEAL.

If the Cavs play it safe at 2 and take Kyrie Irving, then at 8 (if Kemba Walker is off the board) then I think they should roll the dice and take Bismack Biyombo.  Irving can learn some from Baron Davis and maybe play small ball with those two guys running the show at times.  They have a solid power forward already in JJ Hickson so they could put Bismack at the 5 with Vareajao coming off the bench.  Bismack, Hickson, Sideshow Andy, Ryan Hollins, and Luke Harangody is a nice front line with some good defensive players and shot blockers.  I think Kyrie and Baron could throw some nice alley-oops to those guys.  Antawn Jamison would be their designated veteran scorer.  They could then go after some shooters and wing players in the second round (maybe OSU’s David Lighty and Jon Diebler), with their sights set on getting their second option at the wing through next year’s draft.  This is probably the ideal scenario for the Cavs.  They get their point guard of the future and a big man with lots of upside.  Strong point guard play (Irving and Davis), solid defense, rebounding, and shot-blocking up front (Andy, Bismack, Hollins), with a couple of other solid scoreres (Hickson, Jamison), and some timely 3 point shooting (Gibson, 2nd round draft picks) can put the Cavs in the playoff hunt next year.

The Bucks need a power forward and a guy to take some pressure off Andrew Bogut inside.  If Bismack is still there at 10, I see the Bucks taking him.
