Blake has tested out, he is 6FT10 out there
He's gonna do alot. All star in 2-3 years, probably. If he puts his mind to it and stays healthy, I think he could be a top 3 powerfoward for his nba career. I hate the boozer comparison, boozer can't fly like this guy.
To me it's about length and explosiveness, his standing reach is more important than the top of his head. To most it will solidify his spot as the can't miss player of the 09 draft, but he would be an incredible player if he was 6-8 or 6-9 he's taller than micheal beasley so in shoes he would of at least measured out a solid 6-8.75 which is good enough. He's still Karl Malone clone with the body and the work ethic, I see 17-9 next year for whichever team drafts him and good career he'll have to prove himself before I give him franchise tag ( to me that means you can lead a team to the championship) but he has the skill, size, and work ethic to get their.
If you read the article on the homepage its funny how they say he is 6-10 in shoes which he is likely to wear during important games. Haha thats a funny joke
But I dont get how scouts can lie so much on height I mean beasleys is gross he is 6-10 when he is actually 6-7 thats bad. I would like a little more honesty in this socks like Griffin did dont lie. Shoes can give you and extra inch or two.
As far as Griffin, this just makes haters say nothing. This kid is a freak he is gonna be a monster in the NBA. He is a freak athletically, scorer, rebounder, but more than anything he wants to win he will do whatsver he takes he has an amazing amount of hustle and intensity when he plays the game. An example of this is when he dove over the scores table in a game vs Texas Tech that didnt really matter to much, I mean its conference and they won but that was his first game back from his concussion. If I had a teammate that worked that hard it would inspire me to play even harder to match his intensity. And he hit his head on the backboard mans a freak!
At 6ft8 he would have been pretty good, but at 6ft10 watch out. He plays hard every game and will be good right away. As long as he keeps working on his game the sky is the limit.
it's all about skill. He won't overpower everyone like he did in college. He has to develop a jump hook. Young bigs that are as physical as he is normaly have problems staying out of foul trouble if he can do that and stay heathy he will be ok. That's a big if though look at the number of bigs who suffered injuries this year. He will also need someone who can get him the ball in spots he can produce.
he is the number 1 pick. I think if he has a good jumper we may be talking bout another Sir Charles.
Griffin could be a Franchising changing guy. I wanna see 14 to 18 ppg, 7 to 10 rpg and .5 to 2 bpg.
By year 3- 22 to 27 ppg, 12 to 15 rpg and 1 to 2 bpg.
I hate when they measure players without their shoes on like they're gonna be playing basketball barefoot lol
but on the other hand this Blake Griffin guy is a MONSTER. His future is bright
If he is really that tall with all that strength he will be a problem for everyone. No he won't overpower everyone, just almost everyone. How many 6ft10 guys are there in the NBA with his bulk. He is much bigger than even Amare weight wise. He is 252. He might be up to 260 before camp. Not saying he will be as good as Amare offensively, but he will rebound better than Amare for sure. I like the way Blake takes guys off the dribble. That is very impressive he has handle 4real.
why test players in and out of shoes? if they all put the same shoes on they should gain the same height, right? why test players in shoes at all? i've never heard of any other sport testing this way...does posture change in shoes or something?...i find it a little strange....or is it just done to look more impressive to casual fans?
I'm from Oklahoma and to be honest I didn't think his 6'10 height was accurate, this surprises even me. I had a bad feeling he was going to only be like 6'7-6'8. It makes me happy that his size is legit.
wait till hes mesured at the nba combine before saying its legit..its not different then a duke athletic director saying he mesured gerled henderson and saying hes a legit 6'6..untill they are mesured at the nba combine then dont believe the hype and either way the height dont matter..its the reach that matters

Blake Griffin is a legit 6ft9 in socks and 6ft10 with his shoes on. This guy is tall, a freak athelete, and will get even stronger. He will not be undersized,he will be one of the biggest guys on the court every night based on height. Does him testing out to be 6ft10 change what you think his potential can be?
