Lotto StudParticipantHow will Portland fair now with the additions of Babbitt/Williams/Johnson & the subtraction of Webster & possibly Fernandez?

TyroberParticipantBabbit was a great pickup. He is going to be getting a ton of open shots and i dont think he is going to let us down

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI like the move but I think the Championship potential talk for Portland is over now that Kevin Pritchard is gone.
Babbitt is my steal of the draft. He could be a potential 6th man down the line for Portland this season.

Lotto StudParticipantWhat is your take on Williams????

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI don’t see the fits with Williams. I guess they have a plan for him.

Mr. 19134ParticipantThe real question is how will Portland fair without KP calling the shots. He called in another great one by getting rid of Webster for Babbitt who could average more as a rookie then Martell ever did. Reunited him with Armon was ingenious too because they are both top prospects who now have somebody to help ease the transition.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantyou guys act like KP is the coach. KP did great getting the pieces but that doesn’t mean championship contender is over. If healthy the team is contending. Blazers already got the pieces.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantYea, he is not the coach.
But all the crazy moves KP made this past couple years? He rebuilt that team. Do you know how many good GM’s are there in the NBA?
In his whole GM tenure in Portland, he made one “mistake” in taking Greg Oden over Durant. Even then, Oden had superstar potential.
It’s a HUGE loss for Portland. I think they will not win a title anytime soon. JMO

FreeJasonryParticipantI don’t believe that Elliot Williams fit with the Blazers at all. I mean what can he do that Bayless can’t do? They both aren’t natural point guards but can play spot minutes at the position. I don’t think Williams is as good a scorer as Bayless but he may have better defense. They basically are identical players with certain attributes sticking out more than the other.
Babbit I can see being a lethal 6 man down the road. They should just trade Bayless since they were “so high” on Williams. They can probably get some good value for him.

mini_marzParticipantnot having KP gettin the players and makin the trades is huge… people may not realize that…. he may not be coaching but he is a big piece of the puzzle for them winning it all… take the knicks for example.. having isiah as gm screwed them up for years… all the great teams have great gm’s who make great moves in the open market and late in the draft… he will be missed… but they still have a good coach and a solid team when HEALTHY

redblackParticipantKP did a masterfuyll job of righting a sinking ship and should not be without a job for long. How Portland will fair without him could be a different story. It all depends on who the get to fill the vacancy. Only time will tell.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantwell the only way the blazers won’t be successful is the new gm doing stupid trades and such.
