BouncyBallParticipantBoston or Miami in how many games guys?
I pick Miami in 5. Boston may be the reigning eastern confrence champs but they are getting older every year, and havnt gotten much better with the loss of perkins. On the other hand, the Heat are playing great basketball now that they have found their rhythm. They showed this by handing it to boston in their last matchup in s fight for 2nd place in the east.

Scottoant93Participanthaha your out your mind. Boston is gonna kill miami, and even if miami wins its gonna go 7. I say Boston in 6

Vivid5292ParticipantI don’t think the Heat are playing great basketball. Less than 30 points in the paint, against a 76ers team, with Lebron & DWade on your team is not "great basketball". Also, Boston will be well rested so I don’t think it will be as simple as 5 games. This series will go into 7 games at most and 6 games at least.

TheFactionCoalition.comParticipantVivid- haha, saying it goes 7 games at most isn’t TOO much of a stretch considering it is a 7 game series. I like Miami in 6

Toronto16ParticipantCeltics in 6.

KayjayParticipantYou guys are killing me smalls!
Its hard to say, I’ve seen Miami get serious. But i’ve also seen Miami play horrid basketball. So I’mma bring some conditions to this bet instead.
If Rondo is playing well on the offense: Boston in 6.
If Rondo isn’t playing well on the offense: Miami in 7.

sheltwon3ParticipantI say Miami in 6. Celtics will give the the same opportunities that they gave Knicks and Miami is not missing any of their big 3.

TheFactionCoalition.comParticipantToo further explain my Miami in 6. . .I think this Miami team is built for the playoffs. It’s hard for me to see them losing a series against anyone in the East. Playing in a series is a lot different than play during the regular season. I think Boston has better coaching, but it’s hard to picture them keeping the 3 down enough to beat them four times.

Da1potParticipantI think the benches will play a very important role in this series, because the starters for both teams will be pretty much even in terms of scoring the basketball IMO. Glen Davis and Jeff Green must both play well and James Jones and Chalmers are gonna need to step up big-time for the Heat and nail some three balls consistently.

IndianaBasketballParticipantIF it comes down to bench play, then Miami is in trouble because they have one of the worst benches in the league.

Scottoant93ParticipantMiami is watered down after the big 3, unless some of thier bench players step up, thye wont go far. Is Haslem back yet? He would be one of those good players

mbunner23ParticipantMiami in 7

Charlie SheenParticipantBoston is 5 if Shaq comes back Boston in 7 if he doesnt

Meditated StatesParticipantBosh won’t count in this series with KG guarding him so bank on it. Wade expends a lot of energy on D verse the C’s chasing Ray Allen making him less effective on O. I see Rondo really hurting this Heat team severley.

Michael.S.ParticipantWow, Charlie Sheen. You really think Shaq will make that much of a difference?! At this point I wouldn’t expect more than just committing hard fouls and packing the paint on D from him. Did you watch him play 1 year ago? He is a non factor, teams treat him like he is a 12th man.
Rondo will cause problems but im most concerned with KG and Allen. KG is a tremendous defender znd I think his length will bother Bosh on both ends, but this should be an excellent matchup if Bosh takes on the challenge. And Allen is a major concern because although the Heat closeout ridiculously fast, Allen shoots it very fast and Wade gambles a bit too much on D along with roaming and his man frequently can be found open behind the 3-line. I think he’ll realize that he can’t do that as much though since we are dealing with Ray Allen, a player that has blown up on them earlier this year,
All that said Im taking the Heat in 6. I think the most important thing when playing the C’s is to be mentally all there, and the last meeting showed them that they could beat the Celtics.

B-ball fanParticipantCeltics in 7. They will make the series a bogged-down defensive struggle. No run-outs for LeBron. This is a battle of two slow, half court teams, and the Celtics have superior offensive execution and overall defense.

NYK2010ParticipantCeltics in 6 games, probably most of them should be close.
Miami in 5 prediction really they barely beat the 76ers in 5, only see that happening if Rondo isn’t playing in this series. Losing Perkins will hurt Boston but Miami doesn’t have a Center who scores in the paint. KG and Jermaine O’Neal can guard the paint. Shaq who knows if he plays but he’s still more likely to than Haslem.
I wonder if Rondo will be on Wade some outside of being posted up I’m sure he can pressure bother Wade. Boston has the advantage at PG, PF, C on the bench, are more experienced and has the better coach. The Heat aren’t a young as you’d think with Big Z, Bibby, Mike Miller, Dampier, even Wade is 29 not exactly young. Only young players for Miami that play really are Lebron, Bosh and Chalmers. Doubtful that age is an issue with Ray Allen maybe with Pierce and KG. Since they swept the Knicks they have a weak off and KG averaged 34 mins a game in the series. Rondo, Big Baby, Kristic and West are all young. Celtics were tired end of the Finals last year going up against the Lakers front line but the Heat’s front line is no where near as good. Its only the 2nd round, also they have plenty of depth with Big Baby, Kristic, West and Green.

omphalosParticipantCeltics in 5. Miami isn’t that strong a home team, and the Celtics travel well. Miami showed against Philly that they are slow to get started, but Boston isn’t going to crumble as soon as they turn up the defensive pressure.
Pierce is already locked in defensively after bothering Melo for a whole series and he plays well against Lebron usually. Allen has shown time and again what he brings to the table. KG against Bosh is the key matchup, I think KG will absolutely dominate Bosh or at the very least force him out of the paint most of the time.
I actually agree somewhat with Sheen here, Shaq is still great at scoring on the block early in games or drawing a double team. If they use him right, the Celtics are in command of this series.
I just don’t see Miami making it past them in a close game with all their closing woes. Hence, Boston in 5-6, but I’m going balls-out and saying 5.

WiretappedbrainParticipantMiami lacks veterans and a player to go to in the clutch other than Dwyane Wade. On the other hand, the Celtics have multiple veterans and have more depth in their team, especially their bench. Celtics in 6.
