WrecklessParticipantI know it may be to early to tell, but do you think Brandon Knight will be the first Pg taken off the board next year? I think he has gobs of potential. One thing that worries me is his passing abilities. He averaged 2.6 assists in high school this year. Maybe it was because he had to score 35 pts every game for his team to win. I’m not really sure. I’m sure he will average alot more assists with Kanter, Vargas, Lamb, and Jones on his team. He also seems to take bad shots sometimes and appears to have tunnel vision. What are you guys’ thoughts on Knight and the predictions on how he will play next season.
Oh yeah, I forgot to say he cut the braids. =(0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/07/2010 - 10:59am #328516
Lotto StudParticipantThe hair is an automatic given when you go to the college route with some programs.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantHard to say. Selby is so explosive and athletic but he can’t shoot or pass as well as Knight. However with his athleticism somebody might take a gamble on him a spot or two earlier than Knight.
I do think Knight will have the best freshman season out of the big 4 PGs (Corey Joseph and Kyrie Irving being the other two) but Irving might give him a run for his money on that loaded Duke team.

OhCanada-ParticipantBrandon Knight is this years overhyped prospect. He will be an amazing scoring PG but how many rings do allstar scoring PG’s get? I like Selby, Irving and Joseph much more than I like Knight. I’m not a Knight hater he is an extremely talented and exciting player I just tell em how I see em.

JNixonParticipantDon’t be surprised when Knight shows more passing ability than he showed for his HS team. If you watched that game against Austin Rivers’ team, you’d see that his teammates sucked pretty bad. He had to shoot to make them competitive. He was great in AAU settings at playing like a true PG, where he could make plays for others with decent talent.
I think he’ll get 4 to 5 apg for Kentucky, and then hover around 6 or 7 apg in the NBA while getting about 15-18 ppg at his best. He’s very similar to Chauncey Billups to me. He’s not the passer that Chris Paul or D-Will are, but he is a big-time defender, a decent playmaker, pretty quick, strong, and relatively athletic, and a very good shooter. Also as his career progresses, look for him to develop a post game to take advantage of his great frame and strength.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantYes Mr 7000 I’ve been saying the Billups-Knight comparison for awhile now!

HandDownManDown13ParticipantI’m not a big fan of Knight. I think he’s a little overrated.
however i do think he will be the first pg taken next year simply because i dont think that Kyrie Irving is going to go one and done.
I see knight as a scorer and not a playmaker. you can say that his teammates sucked if you want but i just dont think he’s that great of a point.
I’m not so sure about the Chauncey Comparison. I dont really like it.
He’s too athletic to be compared to chauncey and he hasnt shown chauncey’s most important characteristic, his leadership.
I dont know who to compare him too but i wouldnt pick chauncey. All in all i think he may be the first PG taken but he will not be the best playmaker at the point this year. I think Kyrie is a much better point guard than he is and a more complete plaer

StF616ParticipantBrandon Knight has great court vision, and is a good passer
But his teammates Sucked last year and couldnt make the shots when he dished it to them
I really think he will do good next season
Maybe get 16 and 5 and go one and done0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/07/2010 - 12:28pm #328583

IknoBall12Participanti like knight i think he is a good player. but i don tthink he is the best point guard. kyrie irving is the best point out of all of them. kyrie seems to have the best grasp on the gam eas far as being mentally ready and having the overall game. Irving is the more complete point guard. he may not posess the athleticism all the others do bu the is the best.

JNixonParticipantI like Irving the most as well. He seems like another Chris Paul to me.

stanford hoopsquestion…all those who see knight as not a good play maker how many games have you seen him play minue the mcdonals game, worlds or jordan brand?..because if you are going just by that then you’rearguements dont have much credit to them. there have been guys who have played int hose games but didnt score much but ended up being pretty good scorers. kobe and tmac come to mind. same with guards who didnt get any assists

lalailaParticipantIDK i just have a feeling that could be something special..the next one in Cal’s collection.
but as for now it is almost impossible for me to rank him Selby and Irving so different players but to be honest so good player too.

WrecklessParticipantI personally think he will be the best out of the 4.

dolla130ParticipantKnight-i dont see the Chauncey comparison he is way more athletic then him and he is a big time scorer and a really good defender and is a better playmaker then people give him credit for,IMO i see him being more of a arenas type on a bad team and he has the potential to be a more athletic D,will type of player on a good team and no offense to Chauncey but besides the ring he was i think both d will and and arenas have and will have better NBA careers.
Selby- has the potential to be the next baron davis and yet again he is a another playmaker who dosent get that much credit people look at these HS stats for these PGs and just automatically assume that they arent team players or arent playmakers when in all actuality there teams probably suck and there might not even be more then 1 other player on there teams being scouted. and please can some one same a star pg in the last yrs comming out of highschool who has assist numbers that wowed you
Irving- the potential to be a bigger CP3
joseph- is more of Chauncey type then Knight is0 - AuthorPosts
