Before the Bucks returned to the practice court Wednesday, they released three players from their training camp roster.

The Bucks requested waivers on forward Keith "Tiny" Gallon, former Notre Dame guard Tory Jackson and guard-forward Billy Rush.

The moves left the Bucks roster at 17 players.

The 6-foot-9, 290-pound Gallon was the 47th overall selection in the June draft but was signed to a non-guaranteed contract. The Bucks’ other second-round pick, Darington Hobson, was signed to a guaranteed deal. But Hobson is awaiting hip surgery and has been unable to practice with the Bucks during camp.

None of the three players appeared in the Bucks’ 92-83 exhibition victory over the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night.

Former Purdue star Chris Kramer did get a call from Bucks coach Scott Skiles and had two points, two rebounds and two fouls in 13 minutes against the Bulls.

When a rookie gets waived, his original team still owns his rights, right? Or is Gallon a regular ol’ FA now?

Anywho, if he is a FA do ‘yall’ think he gets on with another NBA or is Tiny headed overseas?

Gallon should be a free agent now to sign with any team. I would think some team will take a chance on him.

I think he’s going overseas or to the D-League.  He isn’t ready for NBA level ball right now and he’s over weight.   He needs to drop 15-20 lbs and gain some experience before a team will take a chance on him and sign him.  There seems to be a lot of power forwards capable of filling up end of the roster spots and although Gallon has potential and could still play in the league someday, I think we’ll see him next summer for another audition with an NBA squad or two.

The problem is that "tiny" really is the perfect nickname for Keith Gallon. That’s because he plays tiny. Despite being blessed with good athletic ability and nimble feet despite his size, Gallon tries to play like a guard. There is no problem with a big man who floats a little on the perimeter as guys like Aldridge and Bosh are allstars doing this, but Gallon really tries to be a wing out there. The problem is that he doesn’t have the footspeed to accomplish that. It’s a shame because his skills in terms of shooting, ballhandling, and passing are pretty good but are renedered useless as he’s so far away from the basket. He doesn’t have any real post moves and is not a good volume rebounder nor defender. I definitey had him rated over Caracter pre draft, but from what I’ve seen I’m not so confident that he isn’t just a Euro player. Until Tiny completely shows a refocus towards his style I can’t see him being an NBA contributor.

Well put, ghettosermon.  I can attribute a lot of that to his immaturity too, he is also a liability on the defensive end, when matched up against good post player last season at OU he got man handled, despite his bulk.  Caracter, Cole Aldrich, Pittman ( just 3 guys I remember off the bat) all boxed him out with ease and exposed him as a weak rebounder against high caliber big men, imagine how he’d fair against Amare, Bosh or Boozer.

I think Denver wanted him at one point so maybe he has a chance there.

Denver and NJ wanted him in the 2nd round, but Jersey traded their pick to Atlanta and Denver couldn’t get in the draft, so he fell to the Bucks. I think he’s gonna have to go overseas, but I hope someone gives him a pre-season look in the NBA.

Just a common case of another top high school player who wanted to get the money quick…. He really should have stayed in college for a few more 1-2 more seasons and gotten in shape and refined his overall game. Did he get bad advice or something because I find it hard to believe that he didn’t know where he would likely be selected in the draft. Why come out as a freshman when you are just going to be second round pick??????

No, he had to go because he would have eventually been found to be ineligible.

There are a few assumptions here that are really troubling. First, a player is not necessarily any better off with the coaching he receives in college as opposed to the NBDL or any other professional league. Second, it isn’t like he is going to disappear from NBA radar screens simply because he failed as an out of shape 19-year old. Stephen Jackson toiled in the CBA and leagues in the Dominican. Yaroslav Korolev can still get invites to the summer league. It is a more difficult path for a player because a team will not have the investment in the development of a free agent than a first round pick, but at the same time for the team it makes no sense for them to invest energy or resources in him if he does not want to condition himself like a high level professional athlete.

Its funny because when ESPN did a mock draft that the player picked Brandon Jennings had the Bucks taking Tiny Gallon with the 15th pick!!hahaha.  So during draft night me and my roommate were waiting to see if the Bucks really did draft Gallon, and of course they did in the 2nd round and I cheered.

But I like his game.  Sixers should take a chance on him they need some gurth down low.  And I like him better the Craig Brackins.

I can’t think of what exactly Detroit’s roster situation is off the top of my head, but they may want to look at Gallon. Jerebko is injured, leaving them pretty thin up front. If nothing else, Gallon is a big body. Maybe a little too big, but Detroit needs help regardless.
