Can anyone name every player in the NBA
That's a load of horse doody. There are over 300 active players, and they are always changing.
And you can't name what everyone does or their averages because many of them don't play enough for you to know that.
Nice try, but you have fooled nobody.
I can! i can! Are you ready?
After my first year of playing fantasy basketball I could pretty much do everything you just said, as could most of the people I play with in my league. I also got really good at remembering what College every player went to, what year they were drafted and at what spot they were taken. I didn't do it on purpose, it just happened cause I turned into a basketball nerd, checking scores, player profiles daily, etc. But like Knicksboy said, theres always guys on 10 day contracts, and such so I guess it's impossible to always know everyone.
I'm not even joking I absolutely swear to God. And I can't do it here or you'll think I copied and pasted something.
If you did learn it from collecting Upper Deck or other brand cards then I don't think it's something out of the ordinary.
BTW let's see if oyu have that gift when you are in your 30's.
fastdan, Its the same situation with me except I don't play fantasy. And I can name alot of guys who had 10 day contracts lik Anthony Tolliver, Chris Hunter, Greg Stiesma, Reggie Williams, Coby Karl, Cedric Jackson, Mike Harris I check NBA.com/D-league and see who gets called up.
Look, I don't collect cards, I don't play NBA video games that much, I never have played NBA fantasy. I don't do any of that stuff. I just watch games and check to see who's been traded or signed and It stays in my mind.

I think that if you're 13 you should focus some of that energy on your studies and then you should have a great career. But, when I was 15 I was able to name probably 8-10 players from each team as well as their PPG avg (ballpark area) and usually their college. All in all it really didn't produce a career in basketball for me, as I am now employed as a biologist.
It's not impossible either I know the rosters at the beginning of the season, and just check who's getting traded, signed, waived or whatever and like I said it stays in my mind. If you asked me what team or teams was this player on last season I could tell you.
its kinda unbelievable but jerry lucas did memorize a phone book once
Cameron, Yeah but its not 8-10 players from each team, it's every single player.
This guy was high when he wrote this. Look it even says 4:25 when he posted this so he mustve been smoking a joint fresh off of 4:20 and got another "crazy idea"!
Actually due to the massive ammounts of time I've spent playing NBA games & reading NBA.com daily since I was a little kid I can name every player, their #, height/weight, college, etc. Of course keeping up with the Dleaguers that go in and out of teams isn't easy but neither is it necessary. If you can name 90% of the league then that's impressive, I've often wondered if I was the only one who could do that as well.
I want to be an NBA analyst or broadcaster when I grow up but its not like I'll kill myself if I don't get to become one.
BStar405, Thats what I'm saying though. I don't study NBA player profiles or stats or anything. If I'm watching a game and it says "Dwight howard is averaging 18ppg this season" than it sticks with me and I can remember it.
Jammin-Lemon, I do play basketball and I have for many years. But I suck I'm 4'10, weigh 80 pounds and am unathletic. So I can't play forever.
Not sure how truthful you're being, not because its impossible, but more or less because we have no idea since were behind computers, but if you are telling the truth and can actually name 90-100% of the league, good for you kid, anybody that knows that much about anything should be able to work in that profession. keep up the good work.
OhCanada, don't be sayin sh!t about me. I was just asking a question. You don't have to be a douche about it.
That's good, it takes a fairly high IQ to pick up on things like that and have it stick that easily. You should deffinitely pursue a career in those areas you talked about.
Everyone sucks at first and about the height trust me anyone can hit a growth spurt...Gordon Hayward was I beleive 5'10 in his freshman year of college and is now 6'8.
If you put the work in you can be an NBA player.Look at Earl Boykins, Nate Robinson, Matt Bonner, Luke Harongody and the poster children of the art Steve Nash and Brian Scalabrine.
Its all about the effort young grasshopper.
Cusemen727, Thanks your the only one who actually answered the damn question. Everyone else is sayin its bullsh!t.
OhCanada, yes those guys are undersized but they're extremely talented. And I have like a 1 in a billion shot of actually making the NBA.
Jammin-Lemon, I'm not that good. BTW are you still making wallpapers?
I still make them when I have a chance but when I try to be nice and ask you guys if you want me to make one for anyone they ask for either 10 at a time or they ask for something ridiculous like Vida Guerra dunking on Yao Ming with a Lakers jersey or something. So I don't really ask anymore.
oh, I don't want one or anything I was just wondering.
No but thx anyway.
rip manute. i believe i could do that kind of thing when i was younger in the 1990s because my life was about basketball. i played everyday for hours after school and then stayed up after my homework reading about different players and looking at their cards. i couldnt do it anymore. i can name only the top 8-10 top players on each team and alot of time i dont really know where they came from.
your right you probably wont be a professional basketball player. you need to really enjoy it and have confidence in yourself. but you didnt say you wanted to do that. stay off drugs and pursue your dreams hard and you might get a chance to be a professional analyst.
"I want to be an NBA analyst or broadcaster when I grow up but its not like I'll kill myself if I don't get to become one."
For some reason, I laughed so hard at that. It was pretty funny to me in some weird way.

I'm 13 years old I've only been really into the NBA for a year. I already know every player in the NBA, I can pronounce all of their names, I know where all the International players are from, I can tell you what every player's position and secondary positions are and what they do well, and I can tell you a very close estimation of their averages and I don't even study any of it or anything. I don't spend any time at all studying players' averages and yet I know most of them. Can anyone else do this, because I'm the only person I know that knows every NBA player and can name every team's full roster. Even Charles Barkley, Chris Webber, Steve Smith, Ernie Johnson and other NBA analysts can't do this. Should I stay into it and try to get a career out of it or am I not alone?
