Everyone that I have talked to is so sold on Blake Griffin and that he is a definite 15ppg and 9rpg player sometime in his career. I have watched many highlight reels of him, and it got me wondering: [Can he shoot?] All I ever see on any youtube video is of him is of him dunking.

Can someone tell me if I am totally off with this post by pasting a video of his shooting abilities in a reply.

He’s a SOPHOMORE, WHO CARES? At worst K Martin, at best, sky is the limit. He’ll have years to develop a true J, so take it for what its worth.

Did Stoudamire learn to shoot before coming into the NBA from HS? I don’t think he did.

Griffin does not have to be a good shooter to be one of the best players.

To be one of the BEST players he would have to be good jump shooter to keep teams honest otherwise they’ll sag off him. The only player you can even consider being one of the best without a jumper is Dwight, but he’s more pshyically dominant. Right now Blake’s jumpshot is weak i.m.o and iv’e always disliked big men who shoot bad from the line, Griffin falls into that category. There is still time for improvement.

Stoudamire is rated 5/10 in terms of shooting on this site and it compared him to Ben Wallce

Form seems to be there, but consistency is not. Same with post moves, they are there, but he is not fluid with them yet. The kicker that makes him the #1 pick is that he seems to have the work ethic and desire to improve these facets of his game.

Eprizzle said it for me. To be one of the best, he has to be able to shoot.

There are a lot of players that came to the league without being a good shooter. He will develop it. MJ didnt even come to the league with that great of a jumper.

Look at him now. One of the best shooters in the NBA with an ugly looking shot. Blake has nice form, not worried at all about his J. He will get it falling and when he does, bring that double team on the catch.

Its not consistent yet but he has great form and has shown some range with a few near 3’s and some nice 12 footers off the glass. Blake will be a good player he will continue to develop he has developed leaps and bounds since high school and will only get better. His best quality is that he seems to want to get better and wants to dominate so when he gets to the league and coah wants to get him in the gym shooting thousands of jumpers he will and it will become a strength in his game.
