SpacegrassParticipantCheck out my mock , just updated it for the first time in about 6 weeks. FYI I have Waiters going to NO due to coach Monte Williams affinity for him and I think NO isn’t going to match a big offer from a larger market team to keep Gordon especially when your coach (Williams) thinks he gets the two best players in the draft at #1 and #10 , let me know what you think?

JoeWolf1I get where you are going with the Rivers reunion, but I think #21 is a really big slip for Austin Rivers.
He’s a guy who is really athletic and really long for a 6’4” player. I suspect, after the combine his stock will really rise when people see that he’s big enough, strong enough, and long enough to play the 2 guard in the NBA. He has the tweener label, but I think he’s more of a SG who can spell your PG for a few minutes per game than need be. He’s not the "bad kind" of tweener who’s 6’2” and can’t distribute, I think he’s the "good kind" haha.

nick5354ParticipantOn the topic of Rivers, I find it funny his athleticism is getting a knock. Now if you’re not a super athlete it seems that is automatic knock.

SpacegrassParticipantSomebody who I know in most years would be a lottery pick is going to fall into that 20-25 range. Based on team needs and the fact that Doc would love to draft his kid , I could see a possible gentlemens agreement and see him fall to 21 , though I understand he has lottery talent.
Plus back in 2009 a guy named Wayne Ellington measured 6’5 202lbs with a 6’8 wingspan along with recording a 38" vertical at the combine. He fell to the 28th pick in the 1st round despite being MOP of the final four as well. It could happen to Rivers as well , though I do realize Rivers is a better off the bounce player than Ellington. Rivers though has nothing on Ellington as a shooter.

JoeWolf1^I know, and I’ve heard his max vertical leap is anywhere from 38-40” plus he has a 6’8” or so wingspan and carries 200lbs really easily.

SwatLakeCityParticipantSince when is Monty Williams really high Dion Waiters? This is the second time I heard this on this site, yet no source to back it up. So I am just wondering when did this happen? I’ll make the change in my mock, but I would like to see some legitamate proof before I move Waiters up like 10 spots or so.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantYeah,after the combine i expect Rivers to be among the most sought after players…I have him going to Portland at 6..

TyroberParticipant@rudeboy. No way he goes to Portland at 6. Not with Barnes, Drummond, or Beal still on the board. Much more like he gets picked up at 11th

IndianaBasketballParticipantIF Rivers measures a 38-40 inch vertical and a 6′ 8" wingspan, I will be confused… Because he surely doesn’t finish around the rim and in traffic like he has those type of physical tools.
He’s actually the player who’s measurements I’m most anxious to see… He looks small to me. He’s listed bigger than Beal and I just don’t see it.
I do agree though… IF he measures those type of numbers, I think he’ll rise up the boards.

ChrisCrossParticipantI could see Rivers going as high as 6 to Portland

apb540ParticipantEspecially the Sullinger to Philly part lol. Also, I really do not think Lillard will be the first PG off the board when it is said and done. Wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to see Marshall and Wroten go before him.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantPeople are Dissing and saying Rivers isnt a top 10 pick….Those Will be the same people asking for a front sit on his Bandwagon this time next year….Rivers game is better suited for the pros..Charlotte might be forced by local pressure to take Barnes……
I expect Rivers ,Terrance Jones and Dion Waiters to move up after the workouts..And guys like Marshall and Henson will slide…

CAROLINA BLUE NICKParticipant@spacegrass good point. But Ellington was not as hyped as Austin Rivers is coming out this year. Wasn’t Rivers projected a top 2 or 3 pick before he entered college? Plus he is the son of Doc Rivers and has been hyped for quite some time now. @IndianaBasketball OJ Mayo has a 40-42 inch vertical. He is same “supposed” height as Rivers as well. I don’t know how much OJ Mayo weighed in college but Mayo rarely drove as much as Rivers did. He always settled for jumpers. So I don’t get the knock on rivers athleticism either. I guess guys have been spoield with the Lebron’s, Rose’s and Westbrooks of the world. Plus he has an amazing first step.

IndianaBasketballParticipantIf Rivers has a 6′ 8" wingspan, his arms will be two full inches longer than Mayo’s though.
If Rivers really has a 6′ 8" wingspan and 40 inch vertical, he doesn’t play like it at all. I saw him struggle finishing in traffic and at the rim while at Duke.
He’s a very good athlete, but just not elite. I’m fine with that. My main thing is more that he doesn’t really have a real position. I think he’s a tweener and is bound to be a 6th man scoring guard off of the bench if he doesn’t close up some of the holes in his game.

ChrisCrossParticipantRivers is a better player than Mayo

IndianaBasketballParticipantYou don’t know if Rivers will end up being better than Mayo just yet… He hasn’t played an NBA game.
When Mayo was coming out of USC, he was hyped up too. Miami was considering taking him #2.
I do think Rivers will end up being better (first step is quicker and is more dynamic off of the dribble), but I’m just saying… You don’t know yet.

ChrisCrossParticipanttrue, but Rivers was better as a freshman then Mayo was as a Freshman, so I’m going off that.

Chilbert arenasParticipantGolden State won’t take Lamb at 7 with Klay Thompson filling that spot and Bradon Rush might resign with them.
