Cavs G.M Danny Ferry resigns!!!!!
complete rebuilding mode?
If they can get rid of Jamison and Williams it'll be starting from complete scrap
Sorry, double post
Idk i thought he made some good moves and certainly tried everything to build a winner around Lebron...Varejo contract sucks ill agree with that, although he is turning out to be better then I thought.
However, 3 years ago he made that 3 team trade which improved the team by getting Delonte West
He made the trade for Williams that improved the team 2 years ago
He made the trade for Shaq giving up nothing that added a post scorer...By no means a bad move
He then acquired Jameson at the All Star break which looked like an awesome move...You cant say that he didnt make proactive moves to try to improve his team
this is one case where I think much more of the blame belongs to the coach than to the GM
Mike Browns two main faults were that he had absolutely no creativity on the offensive side of the floor as a coach. Lebron James is so much more suited to an uptempo style of basketball that the offensive scheme did not allow at all.
The other main fault was his lack of defined roles rotationally and his inability to put 5 on the floor that meshed well together. Now maybe you can blame Danny Ferry for that, but he brought the talent to the team it is up to Mike Brown to determine which players deserved major minutes. He failed miserably at that in the Boston series.
great points td8118.........Cleveland's downfall was a little bit of everyone's fault..
Lebron for being too passive..
Mo for freezing again in the playoffs...
Plus Mike Brown's awful offense
playing Parker too many minutes..
Not playing Hickson,Powe & Telfair
and his in game management
You have to put a little blame on everybody.
Dan Gilbert and Danny Ferry: I think they allowed LeBron TOO much say so. A lot of people don't know this, but LeBron signed off on a lot of the deals. LeBron wanted Mo. He wanted Shaq. He wanted Jamison. Whoever made the decision to back out of the trade for Stoudemire because they didn't want to trade Hickson needs to be smacked.
Mike Brown: Terrible rotations and no offensive creativity. I'm still clueless as to why he didn't play Hickson and why he didn't match Varejao up against KG more. His offensive sets were garbage, but I do think he played to LeBron's strengths. LeBron doesn't really play well off of the ball. He doesn't catch and shoot well, lacks a post and a mid-range/in between game.
LeBron James: He hasn't adapted his game. Seven seasons and still no go-to move or post game. Average footwork. He doesn't play well off of the ball and relies too much on isolations which makes the offense predictable/stagnate. He's still an inconsistent shooter. He was very passive vs Boston. When he didn't have the ball, he'd just stand in the corner.
Ferry deserves some blame but not all. As said before contracts or Hughes which he did get rid of after a couple years. Varejao contract is joke for sure. He sometime made moves to just do it. Jamision move was suppoose to be the guy that helped lebron get a ring. O'neal to play against Howard, they never even got that far. He never got a wing man who could strecth the floor and play defense. parker was suited best in smaller role.
@smurfy, don't forget about the crappy donyell marshall contract. And all of the terrible drafting practices of trading most of the picks and drafting luke jackson and dajuan wagner.

Has a team ever had the best record in the NBA and got rid of both there Head Coach and GM in the following offseason?
and I agree with Tezo, everyone deserves a piece of the blame, even Lebron himself
This tam was built to win regular season it seemed but once go to playoffs teams could plot their tactics and plan againist Clevelands. AS said before Brown never made the right chances it seemed.
@the I in win
Ferry did blow it by drafting Christian Eyenga with the 30th pick, BUT... He didn't draft Luke Jackson and DeJuan Wagner. You have to remember... Ferry wasn't even hired until 2005.
I can't remember how much Marshall was signed for in 2005, but Marshall was a veteran who had proven he could hit the three-pointer and play the pick and pop game. Ferry has always tried to surround LeBron with a veteran team in order to win right away.
Cleveland also didn't get rid of Ferry. He resigned. He had a close relationship with Mike Brown. He hired him in 2005. There are reports that Ferry didn't think Brown should've been fired. He chose to walk away.
The Larry Hughes move set them back a great deal and they should have gotten back more for Davis and Miles.
Bostons made moves to get better in one season and did not have the money or assets that Cleveland had over the years.
I admit they got lucky but they were also patience, something Ferry never was.
everyhting in cleveland that has happened happened because thats what lebron wanted ferry and gilbert gave him evertythign he asked for i think ferry did a good job as a gm now does all this indicate that lebron is yet agan gettign what he wants and staying in cleveland wanting ferry and brown gone or does cleveland know brons gone and they are staritng over put that in the bong and puff away lol

According to Yahoo Sports..Cleveland G.M Danny Ferry is on his way out ,less then 2 weeks after the Cavs fired coach Mike Brown..Ferry's contract ends this summer..Assistant Chris Grant is suppose to take his place......
