dolla130ParticipantDavid stern just proved gumble right by saying stern is a modern day slave owner ,it shouldn’t be up to him where players want to play and he feels that players shouldn’t be allowed to to dictate where they play and since the nba owns the hornets he is trapped for the rest of the season i hope CP3 dosen’t report training camp

llperezstern is not why this deal is getting stopped. ANd for the love of god stop comparing the nba with slavery. CP3 is gonna make millions and he will eventually go somewhere. The hornets are the 1 team owned by the nba and the owners collectively dont want to see the trade happen so stern is listening to the majority. If stern ran the hornets like they were his own team and did whatever he wanted, he would be acting without integrity and beyond his means as commisioner.

nba00Participantwould stern prefer cp3 to go to any team that he wants to win a title like lebron? or a team that does everything that it can to become the champion like boston? the lakers right now are in the same position as boston when they got kg and ray allen the only difference is dwight and cp3 are at their peak.

Bmore_DCParticipantactually Stern is the reason why the trade was stopped…he himself stopped it after the owners complained to him…lmao smh

M-DYMESParticipantSTFU this ain’t fuckin slavery!!!! How much money does CP3 make…to play fuckin BASKETBALL!!!! Its a priviledge to get paid to play a sport. You pay me like that, I’ll pick cotton for YEARS and sew shoes for DECADES!!!!

M-DYMESParticipantIf it is that unjust, then retire. You can walk away from the millions whenever you want. No man with a whip is gonna hold you back.

llperezso stern stopped it because his employers(the owners) told him to? SO he was not the reason it was stopped. I dont think people realize stern is an elected representative of the owners. He is their employee. He does what is best for the nba as a whole, but ultimately he listens to the owners. They didnt approve the trade, not stern.

Bmore_DCParticipantyes but it is STERN’s choice to let it go through or not…all they did was COMPLAIN not FORCE
0 - Posted on: Thu, 12/08/2011 - 6:03pm #613073
llpereznothing stern does is forced, ever. All his decisions are made with the nba owners having a say. This is especially the case with how the hornets are ran who were not bought with sterns money out of his pocket, but by the nba owners collectively out of all their pockets. Stern does not have the authority to make the decisions by himself and he doesnt try to.

M-DYMESParticipantI apologize for the explicitives (it was uncalled for), but whenever people make the argument for pro athletes being modern day slaves, I get real heated. People really need to learn about what really transpired during the days of true slavery.

llperezlike i always say, any man or woman who went through real slavery would probably be the first to slap any modern day athlete who tried to compare their situations.

chevilicousParticipantWhen CP3 signed the contract with New Orleans he obligated himself to play there, that’s nobodys fault but his own. He will have his chance to play where he wants once he hits the free agent market. Also you are truely an ignorant piece of shit if you campare any of this to slavery.

dolla130ParticipantThe reason you are all saying this is because you are not in that situation, fans sometimes look at it and say oh they make millions of dollars but at the end of the day they are human beings and when your not free to do as you PLZ a far as going where you want and wearing what you want that’s slavery fuck the money these are grown ass men who make the nba money not the other way around no one comes to watch the owners pen or Davis stern commish These athletes are paid the way there paid because they earned it and deserve it of you all were players and the owners are making a billion dollars off of you your gonna want parts of it and now Chris Paul will leave and that pathetic ass hornets team will be left with nothing because of the dumb ass owners trying to dictate the competitiveness of the nba and they will fail no 21+ year old player will choose Milwaukee over ny,Mia, or la unless drafted there and that’s how it it’s always gonna be

llperezdolla, cp3 is free to do as he pleases. He he can stop going to work for the team he signed a deal with. He can stay home all day every day.Wont get paid, but its up to him. He can sit out till he gets traded. He can play one more year and then leave as free agent whereever he wants. I would ask you to describe how this is slavery, but i already know you dont have a clue what your talking about so carry on.

iguapops420ParticipantFunny, because absolutely know team CP3 would be willing to go to has the spending power to do this. I wonder if this trade will end up going through now that Dwigh is wanting to go to the Nets? After all, wasn’t that the REAl reason this deal was killed?
