Could Chris Paul be Traded Soon?

According to sources, (Jeff) Bowers’ stance on not trading star guard Chris Paul and a hardline stance on the subject ultimately cost him his job. That stance combined with what some have labeled as a “sour” relationship with Chris Paul ultimately ended Bowers’ tenure with the team.

Paul has been extremely vocal about his unhappiness with where New Orleans is in terms of competing for a championship and Bower has done little in the eyes of ownership to defuse the situation in fact some say he’s fanned the flames. The inability to get Paul on board was a huge issue with ownership.

The team has begun a search for a new General Manager there was a strong sentiment in Las Vegas yesterday that Chris Paul is now clearly on the trading block with some executives saying they expected him to be traded in the coming weeks.

I can’t see Chris Paul getting traded, doubt it happens, unless he seriously seriously pushes for it.

    Knicks.

But that is only if he gets traded which, chances are he doesn’t. I don’t think nowadays franchise players will just get traded like that. Name any team that can give the Hornets CLOSE to Paul’s value??

Teams will be lining up with assets to get him… being that freeagency is still 2 years out for him it would probably be a great time to gauge his value. Teams with large trade exceptions and young players could be huge factor.

Like Lebron, like Bosh. New Orleans needs to take note. You will lose these guys for nothing and have to rebuild if you dont trade them. Yes toronto and cleveland got picks, but they are starting from scratch essentially. You have Collison who is more of a triple double threat and better defender. Make the best deal possible or suffer the fate of Toronto, and Cleveland.

That’s a terrible deal. I would not recommend that. I think the Knicks are a good ideal spot of course but I wouldn’t count out a team like San Antonio or even Houston. Both teams have pieces they can offer the Hornets.

there were numerous reports that at carmelos wedding last weekend he openly talked about him and melo joining amare in ny. That’s not a good sign even if he was kidding. If im new orleans, i might have to look to trade him.

But there better be some solid pieces involved. Put ti this way, if you are trading more then 4 pieces for chriap paul, its probably becasue its a sorry package. And to the person above who stated the knicks should include some 1st rounders, when? They dont have their 2012 pick, and since no team can trade back to back 1st rounders, that would mean giving up 2014 and 2016. I seriously doubt the hornets want pieces in 2016 for chris paul.

I hope Nola is smart enough not to ask Kevin McHale for his advise on what a fair trade would be.

The issue is the Hornets would need Darren Collison to really have a great 1st half of the season ans could draw some buzz.

If so, I could see them moving Paul.

I really have no idea why they would even entertain trading him, he is a game changing PG, franchise player and arguably the best in the league at PG, Darren Collison is a solid player and did well while Chris was out but in no way necessary would I trade Paul unless he demanded it, trade Collison for some valuable pieces that you can build around Paul, he makes good players great, if he had another great player it would make his life so much easier. It would be beyond me if they traded Paul because he is a type of player that you want on your team and is a tremendous player.

i could see houston offering aaron brooks, pat patterson, and the ny picks for chris paul but new orleans has collison so they wouldnt really need brooks so i doubt that. minny could offer no a solid package but chris paul wouldnt resign there(i doubt it anyway). new orleans is in a bad situation, they need to take what they can get for him if they are very sure he is leaving in 2012. and they will get more for him now than next offseason because of the years on the contract.

Only way they do it is with Okafor and getting back a center, shooting guard, small forward, and draft picks
