Ok- Ive been posting well as of late and piling up the points. Now Im feeling risky and will gamble my points with another trade idea!

Clippers receives- Aldridge and #10 pick
    Blazers receives- Griffin and Jordan

Blazers get a new frontcourt. Team is much younger, but a playoff team and can all grow together. They keep last year’s lotto pick Leonard and now their weakness of size improves some.

    Lilliard-Matthews-Batum-Griffin-Jordan

Clippers, arguably upgrades at the 4, and I think Aldridge would appreciate Paul more and not clash with him. Clips also with nearly 20 million in cap space can pursue Dwight Howard to pair with Aldridge in frontcourt and deal Bledsoe to Orlando for Afflalo. With the lotto pick from Portland, Clips can draft future replacement sf that can step in after Butler. Keep in mind, what Im hearing recently is that Howard wouldn’t mind giving up the extra 30 million that the Lakers can give him, its just the endorsement potential of LA he would hate to pass up on. This way he stays in LA, plays with stars that compliments him better (Paul and Aldridge vs Kobe and Gasol) and a better/younger team.

    Paul-Afflalo-Butler-Aldridge-Howard

I simulated this through 2k13 and it worked out salary wise. I think I included Butler to Portland, but it wasn’t required to make everything work.

By the way, if anyone is wondering, during the simulation (I simulated all games just to see how the team will fair):
2013-14 season- #1 seed, put out in first round w/ Del Negro as coach.
2014-15 season- failed to make playoffs w/ Rick Carlisle as coach.

    :-p

The thought of this trade makes me cringe as a Blazers fan.

If I was the clippers, and I knew I was gonna be able to resign Chris Paul, I’d make this trade in a heartbeat. Aldridge is a better fit with Paul, and a true professional. And while this draft is light on superstar talent, you can land an interesting player with the 10th pick. Deandre Jordan is a decent player but he’s overpaid and replaceable. Unlike a lot of people, I’m not optimistic about Griffin, I feel like he’s just one of those players who peaked early. what you see now is what you’re getting for the rest of time.
