LazarusMunozParticipantits gonna matter how bledsoe progresses this year…he started out really strong, but the last few games you can see he dosent have the greatest court vison in the world. he will pass up guys and look for his shot
still his all around game looks really good

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantI know they just invested a couple first rounders in Bledsoe and Aminu but if they are in a position to draft Irving or Harrison Barnes they gotta take it since neither Bledsoe or Aminu are blue-chippers by any means.

mj23mj23besteverParticipantbarnes would be impossible to pass on even though they just drafted a sf in the lotta as for irving they already got two young pg in bledsoe and warren so taking a 3rd doesnt make sense

Lotto StudParticipantWhy would they draft Barnes other than being the BPA on the board, when they took Aminu this year?

Because Aminu still hasn’t proven that he can be a good to very good starter in the league and you don’t pass on a player like Barnes for somebody like Aminu.
Here are the #8 overall picks over the last 10 drafts:
Jordan Hill, Joe Alexander, Brandan Wright, Rudy Gay, Channing Frye, Rafael Arujo, TJ Ford, Chris Wilcox, DaSaigana Diop, Jamal Crawford
That’s alot of guys that didn’t amount to anything more than backups or starters on teams that realized they immediately needed to upgrade. A lot of boom or bust type prospects.
It’s not like Aminu was a top 3 player and greatness is expected of him. Like the guys above he was a high-risk bust or boom kind of prospect. Unless Clippers management is absoluetely convinced that he can be a very good player in the league I think they would have to take a (albeit right now) seemingly elite prospect like Barnes if he was available.

leftyballer24Participantthey could draft both and be fine because barnes is a SG/SF and aminu is a SF/PF, so i dont see much of a conflict besides having a stacked team, 1-bledsoe, 2-gordon, barnes 3-barnes/aminu 4-griffin/aminu 5-jordan/griffin plus they have foye and some other decent players

joecheck88Participantthis is a really good question. obviously it depends on where they pick. right now they look like a top 5 lotto team. they would seriously have to take a look at irving if available. i dont think they would mind drafting a center either(think kaman will be gone) but there arent many centers this year. they could reach for fab melo.
this all being said, i think with all the young talent on this roster, they need to draft the best available player. whether it is barnes, irving, jones, sullinger, kanter, knight, etc.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantthose two will be stars in The NBA…When are the 1st Baylor,Kentucky games…Also the Clippers need true Pg…I still think Bledsoe is a backup and Warren is a combo guard (Lou Williams meets Toney Doudlas with a sniff at being Monte Ellis) Irving would be a good pick if he’s a CP3 clone and becomes an elite PG, The Raps would be crushed because that Team needs a Franchise Pg Badly…They’ll be there in the top 5 to have a say in the matter…Jones or Knight would absolutly protest being LA Clippers …Please someone offer the Clippers the earth moon and stars for Blake and Gordon, get them away from the curse….I’d want Blake,Gordon,Aminu and their pick this year…That’s all the Clippers have sans Bledsoe,Warren and Jordan’s untapped potential…

SteroidParticipantI think it has been proven these past few drafts that teams should ALWAYS draft the best player on the board over need.
