rickybobbyParticipantThe NBA is pretty entertaining put college hoops is better. In the nba people mostly only watch there favorite teams, put with college ball theres alot more teams to watch causing for more exciting moments. And plus i think March Madness is way better than the nba playoffs. HANDS DOWN!!!!!!!!!

da gurunba all day western conference games way better than eastern conference

JNixonParticipantYea college is much more intense and I can watch a college game all the way through, but an NBA game takes until the 3rd or 4th quarter for the teams to start competing at a high level. I like college alot more in terms of fan experience

MagikKnickParticipantThe NBA just because you know its the highest level, and you know everybody on the court has great talent, most college players dont even make it to the NBA

gatorheelsParticipantI thought the NCAA tournmanet was really boring this year…Most of years though it is exciting. I prefer college over the NBA but I have to admit the pro playoffs this year were entertaining. I just wish we all would’ve seen a Kobe vs. LeBron final. The NCAA tournament was boring this year for me because I really knew what was going to happen (granted there were some minor surprises). There were no huge upsets and I knew UNC was going to win it all. They were clearly the best team. I like years when it is really a toss up between a bunch of teams as far as who is going to win it all. Of course I love to see upsets too.

Knicksboy34ParticipantNBA over College for 1 reason. The Defense is better. As a former HS player, I would rather watch and imitate Kobe and Lebron rather than #28 for Sacramento State.

birdman113college ball because of the emotions for the nba theres always next year but for a lot of college players thats could be there last time playing on the main stage.

JNixonParticipantThey dont play better defense in the NBA than in college. Not at all
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/11/2009 - 5:35am #179943
Knicksboy34Participantyea they do. You put a average scorer from the NBA back in College, he will look like a #1 pick.

apb540ParticipantThere is no doubt that the NBA is the better of the two to watch cuz it simply has to be due to the fact that the NBA is the best players in the world. College is fun to watch cuz you can watch all the draft prospects and a few rivalry games here or there are good but other than that the NBA runs all over college bball.

JNixonParticipantTo Knicksboy34: That has more to do with the level of competition, the defense is alot more intense in college than the NBA.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/11/2009 - 6:35am #179956
sheltwon3ParticipantActually it isn’t. The use zone to hide the fact that most players in college can not defend some of the better and more athletic players one on one. This does make team defense stronger in so sense but if you are that good there is nothing a team can do other than put 4 men on you like they did Stephon Curry
NBA has better defensive individual players. This does not always mean that system is great but one on one the NBA has the best defenders. I like college during most March Madness tournments but the NBA for overall. You have the best players doing their thing. This years playoffs were incredible0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/11/2009 - 6:43am #179959
JNixonParticipantExactly. The fact that they use zone defense because of athleticism (or lack thereof) has to do with the level of competition. In the NBA games I watch players take alot of plays of on defense, but in college rarely do players take defensive plays off, thats why teams hold each other to around 60-65 ppg in college but in the NBA they average around 90-95 ppg in scoring defense.

Knicksboy34Participantsheltwon- i made u a mod on my site so you can post things now!
But I think College ball is more slower and you have a “coach-controlled” game. You can take a Freshman out if he makes a mistake. In the NBA, the best players play and the others get sporadic time. Also, the competition level is closer.
I mean every year we see like UNC vs Radford or like Kansas vs North Tennessee State….boring.

D7H7NParticipantCollege over NBA. There’s so much intensity and tenacity in College along with the Cinderella stories in the NCAA Tournament.
The NBA in the past 2-3 years have become an isolation game, offense has become more stressed while defense has not. Hence why we see many NBA teams averaging 105+ PPG.

Knicksboy34ParticipantNBA over College. How many times have you seen top 25 teams vs cupcakes. How many times have you seen top 25 teams stop playing starters at like halftime?
The Reason the NBA’s scoring went up is because there are more scorers then lockdown defenders.

JoeWolf1I love watching the NBA because the player’s skill set is so damn good, especially perimeter players, and this year’s NBA playoffs were awesome sans the Finals but Conference Tournaments leading up to and the NCAA tournament is hard to beat in my opinion

maravich44ParticipantFor the most part pro, but nothing beats NCAA tournament.

llperezis better. But the first week of the ncaa tournament might be the most fun of any sporting week of the year. The first game to tip off of this last tournment saw Cal State Northridge lead memphis throughout until the final minutes and that was exciting as hell.

rickybobbyParticipantI will say this year playoffs was a little more entertaining than march madness, but still college hoops is better overall

bluedevils12Participantbut i found the tournament this season 2 be pretty boring. I mean i like college more becuase they play defense which is rarely seen in nba games. they have passion and actually try whether they are gettin destroyed or winning by 20. the NbA is fun 2 watch also tho. the playoffs this year took the NBA to another level i think and we got to see some of he best basketball since Mj’s days
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/15/2009 - 4:06pm #182178
OldSkoolBasketballParticipantCollege is more intense because of the fans and each game means a lot. You get upset, you can drop from 1 to 10 or something. Just like college football.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/15/2009 - 4:18pm #182181
IndianaBasketballParticipantI like the NBA better. In college, it’s mostly about the coaches. In the NBA, it’s about the players. Both have their positives and negatives… I just like the pros better.

the Memphis vs. Northridge game had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

joecheck88Participantthe nba ill watch games but usually just to watch some of the players. ex i like watchin kobe play just see him get hot and drop like 5 in a row with a hand in his face. College ill watch any major conference matchup. EX syracuse v uconn. and i have always looked forward more to big east tournament more than ncaa. mostly because they play at the garden

tkd720manParticipantCollege. Definitely.
It’s a lot more intense, for one thing. I mean, imagine if EVERY NBA player was always in the play-offs, during a contract year – then you might begin to approximate how much college players want to play their best and win every game. Every game matters in college for two reasons – first, you have to win in order to make the post-season, and there are fewer opportunities to build a lead in the standings; second, you have to play well on a nightly basis in order to have a shot at getting to the pros.
For another thing, the experience of going to a game is infinitely better in college ball. When I go to NBA games, sometimes I don’t even realize when play has resumed from a time-out or a whistle – that NEVER happens when I go to college games. The fans are more into it, the bench is more into it, the band gets everybody hyped – what does the NBA have that could possibly compete with that? A small section of lunatic nut-bags and some cheap synthesizer music every once in a while? The two simply aren’t comparable in this regard.
Finally, March Madness. It’s self-explanatory.
The NBA is tremendously entertaining – don’t get me wrong about that. But it’s simply not as good as college ball.
