Anyone else growing more confused on who Julius Randle is going to pick? I mean I’m not the smartest person so it is easy to confuse me but still. At the beginning of the school year it looked like UK was the front runner, he attended their alumni game, took some pictures with Drake, and even said that the Harrison twins and him were “cool” and their commitment did not turn him off of UK. Then over the past few months we’ve seen him retweeting everything under the sun KU. Wayne Selden telling him “we have work to do next year”, a photo shopped picture of him on the cover of college hoops 2k14 in a Kansas jersey. The next curve ball was when he broke his foot and coach Cal contacted him and told him “even if you don’t come and play for me, come to UK, get an education, and once you graduate you can coach for me” to add to that he even said in an interview with Dave Telep that if he had to take one PG with him to college it would be Andrew Harrison. NOW he just came back from a visit from N.C. State and said it was the best visit he has had. A few weeks ago I had Randle as a lock to go to KU and thought he would commit right after his visit later this month during college game day in Lawrence. That all being said I think Kansas has a 40% chance, N.C. State is at 30%, Kentucky is at 20%, and Florida at 10%.

I swear this kid and his recruitment would make great t.v.

You’re forgetting Texas who’s probably been the favorite all along because of their location and proximity to his family.

If you want powerful men in dark suits promising you the world week after week and you want to help keep your name in the papers,… nothing beats screwing around on a decision for free publicity.

Texas is a real long shot, if he goes to a Big 12 team, it’s KU. Kansas has a strong class coming in and they had a pretty good one last year. Texas would have to promise him the Kevin Durant treatment and more, maybe retire his number before he plays a game.

I follow recruiting boards pretty closely. From what I gather, the favorites all along have been Texas and Kansas. Randle is really close to his mother and she wants to be able to go to his games. I really don’t think the strength of a roster would matter. Randle wants to be the man, wants the freedom to play in space then he’s gone after a yr. Texas isn’t lacking for talent either. They’re just really young and poorly coached.

What boards do you go to? I’m just curious because I’ve been really into recruiting this year myself and I’ve just been going to the likes of 247sports, what little espn offers, anything I can find on this site, rivals, and maxprep.

I’m a member at scout. Yahoo’s free CBB board has some nuggets every now and then, especially when supposed family members post. I browse 24/7 every so often as well.

Oh and every team has their own board frequented by people who are really into recruiting. Like I’m a fan of the Illini so I go to Illinoisloyalty.com. Michigan has UMhoops.com. Kansas has theshiver.com. Kentucky has wildcatnation.net. Arizona has pointguardu.com. etc. Those are great sources of info and they’re free for the most part.

Thanks man! I actually have quite a few teams I have to keep up with. I went to UCLA for undergrad and now I go to Indiana for graduate school, but both my parents went to Kentucky so they are constantly asking me about what’s going on with them.
