KHAM83ParticipantIf Bird is brought on as GM, do you think this effects Cousins’ future with the team? Last time he had “bad Personalities” on the Pacers, you see how that worked out, then he cleaned house. Do you all think he cleans house immediately and rebuild or does he give Cousin’s a shot?

KayjayParticipantHas made it very clear, they aren’t giving up Cousins. Bird would most likely atleast evaluate Cousin’s for a season and attempt to set him on the right path. If it didn’t work, obviously they would explore other venues. But I believe he’d give Cousins a shot at showing improvement.

nick5354ParticipantI just cannot see them trading him, at least not for something remarkable. I mean let’s not forget he averaged 18/11 in 2011-12 only playing 30 mintues a game. I know people are saying they reckon he is a 20/10 guy but he would have if he was able to stay on the court, at the age of 20-21. He is still only 22 now, there are seniors in this draft older than him. His per 36 stats show he is a 20/11 guy his past 2 seasons.
But per 36 stats mean squat if he is not able to mature and keep himself on the court for 36-40 minutes a game.
I really think if he can screw his head on, get in the right system or SAC turns there system around, he could be at least 24/12 player. I hope he can get there, it is frustrating seeing such a talent go to waste.

rjb241Participanti wouldnt even consider trading him unless i was getting something great in return. not even the top pick in this draft. The organization has to keep him and take a chance at him possibly getting paired with the right coach/players. He has all the talent in the world. I am from Kentucky and watched about all of his games in college and the dude is an absolute beast when he plays hard. I actually thought his ceiling was so high that alot of teams would considered taking him over Wall. Washington obviously made the right pick but i still believe if he can just somehow start to figure out the right way to play and work hard he can be the best big in the league. He is easily one of the most powerful players in the game and there is so few really good players at the center position. No disrespect to roy hibbert or brook lopez but id rather have cousins any day if you can even get 75% of his talent out of him (which has proven to be difficult). If i was Larry Bird i would be dialing George Karl right now, hes handled similar situations before with guys not close to cousins level

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantDude (Kings majority owner) said he wants a billion Indians to know who DeMarcus Cousins is. Whoever comes in will probably have already agreed to not want to move Cousins.

adumParticipantAfter my hometown Raptors I cheer for the kings.
From my point of view it looks like Sacramento is a wasteland for talent.
I was almost hoping for move to Seattle I think it would of changed the culture .As far as Demarcus goes we all know he has the talent to be the best big man in the league.
He is a headcase and I the only way for it to change is getting traded.Sacramento has allot of assets and can depending on there GM they can build a decent team by trading there current “stars”

ShyhillParticipantIf they did trade him just because of his bad attitude that would be stupid.
The magic put up with Dwight untill he left..0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/08/2013 - 2:06am #792943

WarblingSpamalopeParticipantI think you have to hold him through this year. I know this current regime didn’t draft him but its not like it wasn’t common knowledge that he was going to be a massive project. I just think it’s impossible to get fair value for him. If they need to dump him do it for a top pick in next years draft and blow the thing up.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantLarry Bird might just the person to get Cousins to reach his full potential….While he was with the Pacers Bird had a reputation and knack for drafting and bringing in guys who are fearless, tough, bad reputations and brought an attitude Artest,Stephen Jackson,Shawn Williams & Lance Stephenson
