MagikKnickParticipantBulls point guard Derrick Rose claims that his three-point shot is vastly improved.
“It’s there; I have a consistent 3-point shot now,” Rose said. “You’ll see. I just have so much confidence in my jump shot now. It’s coming along so good. It’s past even my expectations at this point.”
Rose has been splitting his offseason workouts between the Berto Center and Santa Monica, where he trains with Russell Westbrook and Tyreke Evans

This should be great for him, he really struggled with it last year, shooting only 26 percent…..but nothing is legit until proven in a game, so are you buying it? Or just gonna wait and see?

paint intruderParticipantIt definitely would push his game to another level.
If his 3-point shot really falls consistently the defense can just decide which poison to swallow.0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 4:32am #355899
JNixonParticipantI’m definitely going to wait and see, but if his 3-point shot develops into a threat where he can make it OK if his guy dives his screens…not even an actual weapon like a Steve Nash…He will be a legit MVP candidate next season until the forseeable future

omphalosParticipantRose’s development has impressed me tremendously. I used to hate that he was getting love over Rondo before, but his game is improving by leaps and bounds. It will only get better now that LBJ won’t be joining him – which could have stunted the growth of this crazily talented player. There will be championships in his future, mark my words.

RafterParticipantRose doesn’t strike me as the type of person that would lie but i’ll believe it when i see it.

ChewyParticipantHe made huge improvements on his shot last off season. Mostly his mechanics (going straight up, having balance when jumping for his jumpshot and his follow through allowed for more touch and finess on the rim). However, last yr it was obvious his range only extended to jumpshots comfortably. I could see Rose being a great shooter in 3-4 years, not next year.

he looks like a Black version of Winter Warlock from those old x-mas cartoons…0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 6:51am #355949
RUDEBOY_ParticipantYeah..All the Great 1’s work on their game..Magic worked to improve his outside shooting..And Remember how bad Stockton made Kobe looked when Kobe 1st came into the league? Now Kobe’s 1 of the best defenders in the league…
Lebron is a much better defender now then when he 1st came into the league..Some people say he doesnt play much defense only blocks shots. But dude finished with more steals then blocks0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 6:58am #355956
RafterParticipant@RUDEBOY1000 I find this pic on Google i typed in “Dennis Rodman Long Beach Jam”, looks like i made the right choice having him as my avatar since you’re the second member that’s commented on it lol.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI thought Rose started shooting the three with more confidence towards the end of last season and the playoffs.
Rose will always be a better driver and mid-ranger shooter than a three-point shooter, so I think teams will live with him attempting three-pointers.

arc1212Participanti know he’s great but let’s see what he does
it’s great he’s putting in work…and when you do that you can get nothing but good results
but let’s see in a game0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/17/2010 - 8:29am #355982
IndianaBasketballParticipantEVERY player claims they put in a lot of work over the off-season and talk about how much better they’ve gotten at something.
I’m with you above… Let’s see him prove it during the regular season.

OhCanada-ParticipantIndianaBasketball
Every player puts in work but the specific type of player like a Derrick Rose who lives off of his penetration improves his shot out to the 3 point range it opens up so many avenues to improve his game. When a player with penetrating abillity cant shoot, players give them extra space and deny a drive to the hoop. By stretching out the floor Rose can use his superior athletic abillity to breakdown the defense and get to the basket. And if anyone wants to give him the shot he will knock it down.
More of those types of players are Russell Westbrook, DeMar Derozan,Gerald Hendrerson, Terrence Williams, Tyreke Evans, Jerryd Bayless etc. If any of these guys start hitting the 3 consitantly thier complete game will become so much better.

BasketBalAllanParticipantRose, Westbrook, Evans, and I believe Mayo was there as well. They were training together and a large part of that was specifically focused on improving their outside shooting, at least according to Evans. Hopefully it paid off because all of those guys could use some improvement in their shooting to become really dominate.

sheltwon3ParticipantI think it will be scary for Rose, Westbrook, and especially Evans to have improved their 3 point shot. Also when Lebron added a more consistent outside shot, it open up a lot for him even when teams were like shoot it and if he made them, teams were just demoralized because there was no way to guard him if he can do that.

SteroidParticipantRose seems like a pretty modest dude, so I’m sure he’s not hyping himself. I’m curious what his expectations were for himself…

fastdanParticipantWB, Evans, Rose and Mayo training in one gym? I bet they could sell tickets to that.

sacphil_08Participanti agree sheltwon. When a player is that dynamic and they add a jump shot to their arsenal it really demoralizes opponents. If anyone ever notices there are plays where guys will kind of move out of lebron’s way or d wade or kobe because they are who they are. This is because of the demoralization factor and it only happens with the best of the best.

FDAPOI believe him.
I really think he will make a case for MVP this season.
Bulls should get a 2-3 seed.
