Champzilla21ParticipantHe has just put up another solid game coming off the bench for the knicks again scoring 30 pts and shooteing 8-16 from the 3 pt line and has already made 18 during the 3 game stint. Is it time that D antoni move him to the starting line and if not what more do you guys want to see from him

NYK2010ParticipantHe’s a starter, put him in at SF. Harrington can come off the bench but I’d rather use him at PF becaz it creates matchup problems. Lee can play Center some of the time when Darko or Jeffries aren’t in the game. Time for Gallo to start exploiting smaller guys inside too esp. when teams will double or crowd him on the perimeter and seems he has a decent 1st step and handle too. Just needs time still very young, he’s shoots a great FT% too. Thankfully D’antoni is giving him minutes and the Jason Kapono comparison are way off that guy is so overrated he plays for a diff. team every other year.

knicks82ParticipantDantoni actually did start Gallinari in last nights game against the sixers. He also made some nice moves to the basket and got to the line a couple times. I kept trying to tell people last year that said he was a “bust” and they should have took someone else, that this kid can flat out play. Hes smart with the ball and is a better defender than people give him credit for. And he just turned 21. Hes only gonna get better. Go Knicks!

bkballerParticipantquincey stop hating kiddd.. this man is the real deal
danilo >> lopez
and he is finally getting healthy and starting to show that. Lopez is a stiff fully developed center who is going to be a 14 and 8 player his whole career. Danilo still has a lot of learning and growing to do and is already shooting 8-16 from 3 in games 30 games into his career.0 - Posted on: Sun, 11/01/2009 - 3:55am #225558
MagikKnickParticipantD’Antonis offense gives you more possessions, which means more opportunitys to score, but it doesnt make you shoot 50% from behind the arc, hes got talent…you cant deny that
But his problem is getting in the paint, hes capable…as hes shown flashes, but just rather put up a 3
Attempting 16 3s in 1 game is a bit much…

JNixonParticipantGallinari is a effort defender and he’s physically gifted already with a good frame. I think he’ll get stronger, and he’ll be a good defender in time. He’s already a good shooter with a nice 1st step and handle so as he gets stronger he’ll be a threat as a slasher. He reminds me of Mike Miller with an even better jumper and the potential to be a better slasher and defender than Miller. My bold prediction was that he’d lead the Knicks in scoring, we’ll have to wait and see about that lol.

rtbtParticipantDanilo Gallinari is only 21 years old, his game clearly needs more diversification, and his body needs to and will get stronger as he matures. In other words, we haven’t come close to seeing the best of him. Right now he must concentrate on driving to the hoop more often. He’s shown flashes of doing such but for whatever reason, he doesn’t do it enough.
Gallinari is already an excellent passer and one of the greatest 3 point shooters I ever saw. When he misses, I’m literally surprised.
But let me say this, whatever that intangible is that great players have, Gallinari’s got it. With the Knicks down by 4 with only 11 seconds remaining and needing a must score, they gave it to Gallinari and he drilled a 25 foot three pointer under pressure that sent the Garden crowd in to a frenzy. That was the shot that put them in a position to go into OT.
The thing about Gallinari that makes me laugh is the often used comment that he’s weak in defense. That may be true, but tell me if anyone else on the Knicks plays defense. Why do they always single him out?
