How is this guy not on the 09 mock. He is the best player on the court for UNC alot of nights, i watch all of thier games. There are some nobodies on there. I think he will be every good as Raja Bell, if not better.
    Anybody with me?

but thing about the draft is they want players who could potentially be superstars, not players who will help you win games from day one. Green brings outside shooting, tenacity, and under the radar athletic ability. the team that drafts him is getting a role player that will help you win championships while team with the maybe he’ll be really good or really bad players has 1/30 chance of having that best case scenario come true. He’s possible bottom first round pick if he keeps up the pace and kills during individual workouts, and guaranteed first-rounder if tar heels win championship.

I agree with you, I’ve thought he’s outstanding since their first game this year. I think he has a lot more to offer than Wayne Ellington. He’s quicker, more athletic, better ball handler and a better defender than him and does a lot more on the court. The only thing that I think Ellington has an edge on him is spot up jumpers and the way Green has improved his shot this year even that’s pretty close.

I agree that on draft day teams do draft players who could potentially be all-stars, however, most people would agree that this draft is short on top-end talent which I believe will help out Green on draft day. Personally, I am a big fan of Green and think that he would be a star player if he played on a team in which he was not the 4th option on most nights (behind hansbrough, ellington and lawson). If UNC goes deep into the tournament then more people will have their eyes opened to Green’s talent and they will realize both his offensive and defensive abilities. I like the Raja Bell comparison by canesboy (by the way i go to UM too) personally he has always reminded me of James Posey. In Posey’s three year Xavier career he averaged 15.3 ppg, 8.4 rbg, 1.7 apg, 2.3 stls, and 0.7 blks while shooting 52.7% from the field 80.8% at the line and 32.9% from deep while this year Green is averaging 13.5 ppg, 4.5 rbg, 3.1 apg, 1.9 stls, 1.6 blks while shooting 51.3% from the field, 78.8% at the line and a scorching 46.8% from deep. Also, at Xavier, Posey was listed at 6’7 204 lbs while Green is listed at 6’6 210 lbs so not only do the two players have similar numbers, they also have similar body types and play similar styles. I feel that while Green will not go particularly high in the draft he will be a better player than projected and will be a contributing player to his new teams’ sucess

Danny Green to me is a smaller Shane Battier, I think he’s a excellent glue guy for the Tar Heels and for whatever NBA team that drafts him. He’s a real smart player, has a great basketball IQ, he hustles, he defends real well, gets his temmates involved, rebounds well, shoots well from behind the arc, he’s a decent free throw shooter, and to top it off he’s very coachable, so I think he’s a winner. I wouldn’t be surprised if a contender with a late first round pick, like the Spurs or Celtics drafts him.

He is the type of guy that has a lot of tools that might be better appreciated on the pro level he’s a winner. Still don’t know why he wasn’t starting last year. Like his overall game doesn’t really have a major weakness, does a little bit of everything. I agree he’s gonna be a good pro on a good team, He would also be good for teams that have more than one pick like the Grizzlies who can use as many steals in the draft as they can get, some GM is going to be wearing a mask when he drafts this guy if people keep sleeping on him.

I think Danny Green is also the best current prospect on tha carolina roster and i could see him in that Raja Bell role. Why i think its hands down Green is becuase of the following problems with his current teammates that will hurt them on tha nba level. Lawson has been exposed as a terrible defender (See Tyrese Rice’s scoring stats 2 years in a row and Jeff Teague this year) he also just doesnt have tha perimter jump shot to keep defenses honest ( See Sebastian Telfair). Ellington is a streak shooter with a slow release that he wont be able 2 get off against typically more athletic wing players in the nba,not to mention he is already undersized and not a great athelete. Hansborogh is Mark Madsen 2.0 and is not worth wasting a draft pick on. He has no real skills although he does hustle like a mad man,it just wont be enough against the more superior athletic big men in tha nba. Lets not even talk about his traveling problem or the fact that i couldnt give the name of another big man in the acc that has a shot at the nba.

Chrisky, I can’t hate on the Tyler bashing just because I get it all day and am sick of defending him, you will see. I think Lawson will be pretty good, I see him bieng a TJ Ford type, he just needs to assert himself more. I agree that I have my skepticisms of Wayne. You would have to watch them alot to notice, but Ed Davis i think is handsdown the best prospect on the roster right now. He is playin the 6th man role, and a little goofy right now, but 6’10 and long, great shotblocker and rebounder, a little thin but doesnt get pushed around and is very mobile. Scores more than you think he would, has some goofy post moves him is surprisingly effective with them and has great touch. When they make a deep run, people will find out about him ala another Frosh UNC big Marvin Williams, who was wayy overrated coming out. I hope Davis stays, but he is a late lottery pick whenever he does go i think.

    Compared to Battier and Bell.

Both known for their defense and 3pt shooting. Pretty spot on for 4 year old comparisons.
